I'm conflicted with this tbh.

Yes it was impressive and powerful, with two convicted criminals being justifiably highlighted ...

... but I really don't want every event, or occasion, being turned into a circus.

To be fair I’ve just came across this… assumed he must’ve done something else and this was just a clickbait title but nope! I stand by what I said on the CK thread, left or right unless it’s vile hate speech you should not be prosecuted for saying “nasty words”. It’s akin to someone saying “**** jesus” and getting arrested, it’s ridiculous and a total waste of police time/prison space. Who cares ffs.

Shocking. Thought the stabbing was bad until you scroll along and see the hate rape, then the fella who killed his own mother. Really is some ****ed up people in this country. So many young lads with no regard for others or the consequences of their actions it’s scary. Willing to do life for a few quid.

Just got the ITV news on there. Woman in Thornaby been arrested after a baby was found dead.. straight onto the next story also in Thornaby, 21 year old man charged with rape and causing/allowing death of a child and 25 year old woman charged with murder and causing/allowing the death of a child.. straight into a 3rd story of a woman being arrested and charged with murder after an 8 year old was found dead in Billingham. Gobsmacked doesn’t cut it. Bloke reporting the news must’ve been thinking what the **** am I reading. Literally one after the other.

In the States, a country which holds "free speech" so close to its heart that its actually enshrined in their Constitution..Has, over the last 6 months or so dismantled Free Speech brick brick. Last Night Jimmy Kimmel was dropped by ABC this follows Steven Colbert losing his late night show. Both had done something that clearly goes against their 1st amendment and the protection of free speech...they had the temerity to use their shows to criticise Trump and constantly take the pi55 out of him. So, its free speech in the States, so long as Trump and his sycophants approve of what you're saying.
This is the thin end of the wedge and is coming to the UK if Farage and his cronies somehow manage to get in, as this MAGA wannabe uses every trick in the Orange moron's playbook

100% this. Trump is a bully . They tell people that if you speak against us we’ll stop your income. Johnson’s lot did a bit of that- Gove and co. With nations - speak against us we’ll give you tariffs. Reform banned critical media from their media and said they will ban protest but didn’t criticise Saturday. The hypocrisy has started here. Are we on the side of the people or on the side of the billionaires?

Free Speech has been on the chopping block for over a decade now, even steps towards, "freedom of speech but not freedom of reach", were death knells. We don't live in anything close to an idealistic state yet freedom of speech is an ideal. Would love to say, let the other side wield the hammer to even things up, but at the end of all this, I'm not sure getting free speech back is a given.

BBC News saying Kimmel mocked Trump, saying he wasn't genuinely mourning Kirk. Kimmel joked that Trump appeared more like a four year old mourning his dead goldfish

Yeah he did say that, I watched the clip, but is it a reason for a comedian to be took off air. ?. If, in UK, comedians who took the pi55 out of our politicians and Royal family were removed from TV...we wouldn't have anything to watch...Thin end of the wedge this...Free speech will be a thing of the past very very soon, if its not already
