Would be good, but I'm sure we wont stretch to his wages, but then we supposedly agreed terms with Defoe who's supposedly on 80k a week?? I'm of the opinion that a wage is worth paying for the right player, if a striker can score the goals that make us safe then 90k a week is cheap. Pay that wage and they flop, like the last lot of so called stars then everyone says you've gone mad.

Oh for a magical crystal ball that could let you see how it would work out.

Two quick-fire goals from Diego Forlan - one after a dreadful howler by goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek - saw Manchester United end their run of five successive defeats by Liverpool.

Dudek's error presented Forlan with his first and changed the course of the game and not even a late Sami Hyypia goal could save Liverpool.

Football: Forlan sinks Chelsea as United reach last four; WORTHINGTON CUP ROUND-UP (Dec 2002)

Diego Forlan struck lucky seven as he steered Manchester United into the Worthington Cup semi-finals for the first time in eight years with a 1-0 win over Chelsea.

The pounds 7 million Uruguayan, branded a mis-fit earlier in the campaign, hit a late low shot ten minutes from time to seal a pulsating contest in which the imagination of two illustrious attacks was matched only by the solidity of the defences, in particular Mikael Silvestre and William Gallas.

The French pair performed to such a high standard that a draw seemed inevitable.

But Forlan had other ideas and rattled home David Beckham's pass - his seventh goal of the campaign - to set up a twolegged semi-final appearance. …

We were willing to pay £10 million plus add-ons for Borini, and a rumoured £58k per week. With no transfer fee, this fella could be worth paying inflated wages for a one-year contract.

Indeed, I wonder if the board are looking at players like this today? The only real issue is whether other players start getting all out of joint knowing a new player is on higher wages and it start to affect team spirit, but I think players shouldn't worry about others wages, if they want more play harder!

The clue maybe in the dates of the stories Killy … it was 11 years ago
 
I don't think Forlan is a free agent. He signed for Cerezo Osaka in January 2014 on an 18 month deal. That link is for the FIFA video game.
 
Is it sufficient to not want Diego Forlan just because he looks like Michael Bolton?

If so, I'm out.
