Cheers for the insight, Bob.

Price wasn't an issue originally then? It's also unlikely that a hidden financial whole was the reason, as I doubt that it would take them until the last minute to find.

It seems to point to the goalposts being moved. Probably by Donald, but it's possible that Methven or Sartori threw a spanner in the works as well.

Something like Donald wanted to retain a 5% stake but changed his mind and wanted to keep more.

Edit:

Another possible reason, that was floating around at the time iirc, was that Donald had a change of heart and decided if FPP didn't want him to run the club then he didn't want to sell.

I was told early on that an incentive payout based on getting to the PL was inserted by the seller, but not agreed upon. Why would the buyer agree to this when it is their money used to get there? ‍♂️

Donald owned 74% of the equity so would have to have been an amazingly large spanner by either of the others.

That's exactly right from the information I was given.

Donald insisted on substantial bonuses for subsequent promotions after having sold the club.

I posted that info before it was ever mentioned elsewhere.

Donald had the opportunity to sell the club to FPP, for a profit, but knew the potential of this club.

We had a wonderful opportunity and Donald threw it away through greed ...

... that's a fact.

If he has threw it away, I hope it’s a boomerang mate, I detest the man and he needs to **** off.

I hate to have to press 'like' on this stuff but I believe this 100%.. Donald has certainly got what he set out to do... go down in SAFC folklore.

I didn’t say my source didn’t know. I am just saying that a deal to sell the club was as good as done. And my source definitely was in a place to know that. But nothing is final until it is final.

Ross was introduced to the 'new owners' Bob ...

... that was planned by Donald, not just a wild slip of the tongue.

People can claim all kinds of reasons for it but they're all nonsense.

Donald believed he'd sold the club.

I have tried to keep an open mind on the owners and certainly dont like the personal abuse on what now appears family members on social media.

However, I think an issue throughout this period has been the silence from FFP. If this is the scenario as you say FFP should let it be known as I think it would change things very quickly.

For the good of everyone we need to know FFPs intentions are as the the club is dying in front of eyes imho. This can not be good for the owners or any potential owners and certainly is depressing for us fans.

Not doubting you by the way marra.

You're absolutely spot on. Currently we don't really know whether to withhold season card money etc from Donald because we don't know if FPP want us. If they do then we starve him of funds and, as he can't sell to anyone without their say so whilst the loan is there, we can force him into their hands because he won't be able to fund losses for long. If they don't want us then that's a dangerous road because it could lead to the likes of Mark Campbell, Donald would just want out and would get whatever he could and sell to whoever he had to.

We need FPP to tip their hat and that would massively accelerate things. Sadly, I just don't think that's how they do business. They didn't comment at the start, they didn't comment during it, and they didn't comment when it broke down and when they gave Donald the loan offer he couldn't refuse. The worrying thing for me is that Donald certainly thinks he can sell to others and is trying to do so, so either must think that he can repay the loan, or that FPP won't stand in his way, neither of which bodes well for us.

Agree and I speak as someone who has left my season ticket money in the Club at the current time.

I try to see the good in people, with our our owners - rightly or wronglly. However, the current situation is killing our Club.

Im no expert but nobody loans £10m interest free without a wider agenda - certainly not very rich and successful business people. On a personal note I would like to know what that agenda is as it will determine if I leave my money in.
