Mentioned yesterday but it sounds like it's true. Also ties in a bit with the strange feeling I've had for a while. Namely that the season card thing seemed really strange if the owners thought they would be here long term, it seemed absolutely crazy to announce what they did and be so slow to correct it. It felt like they didn't give a ****, as if it wouldn't be their problem. The last time they were near to selling to Campbell was around the play off semi final time when, again, they didn't bother trying to promote it to try and increase attendance (even though they'd previously been dead keen to get every single person attending). It seemed like they didn't have to keep up the act any more (or didn't think they did) because they'd be gone, so they stopped giving a ****, because it wasn't going to be their problem, just like it feels now.

I still haven't heard anything from RAWA about this one, and I don't think anyone there thinks a sale is close, but someone else who I would trust not to be bullshitting and who might well be in a position to know has said that it's true about Campbell and that it's been ongoing for a few months and is getting to a serious stage. If RAWA say anything about him, and if I'm allowed to pass it on, I will do because this is someone we can't have involved at our club

Amazing isint it.....in the space of 10 months we were on the cusp of becoming the richest club in the world which fell flat. Then Newcastle are about to become the richest club on the planet with their fanbase (after years of protest against their current owner) pleading for him to go now wanting all the authorities to sign off the deal to allow them to have the Saudis as their new owner. Come back down the road a few mile and our protests are about to gain pace to oust our current owner only for us to the have to create another protest against the club not allowing our (possible) prospective new owner to take charge! couldnt make this up could you!

There is a lot of talk over the road about Mark Campbell been back in for the club..see below from a falkirk forum from page 4366 onwards some stories about the fella, he seems to be an out and out con-man by the look of it, especially about taking over the pub from the landlady

https://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php?/topic/138524-the-falkirk-fc-thread/page/4366/#comments

Also a lot of research gone into the below link but if you skim over it, theres a lot of bad reading about him, showed proof of a grand total of.....£800,000 funds

Does anyone think that these Mark Campbell stories are being circulated by cronies of SD & CM in an effort to deflect from the current issues regarding the way the club is being run?

I'd be surprised. I don't know where the person who told me about it got it from, but I do know that Campbell is a gobshite. I fully expect it came from him or his team. I just hope he's overstating how far along it is

Our club is a car wreck right now, not sure how true the Campbell rumour is and to be honest I know zero about the guy, but reading bits and bobs it strikes me we would be out of the frying pan into the fire with this bloke...

I think we are in the fire now.

So if we fold (at least a possibility) who would you follow?

I’d have to go Peterborough as they’re my local club but for those in the North East wouldn’t be a simple choice...

Don't think theres a chance of us folding, there'll always be someone who would buy us even if it follows administration. If it did happen there would be a new phoenix club formed in the city and I'd follow that

As I only give a stuff about SAFC and right now my appetite in football is at an all time low, If Sunderland went tits up, I think that would be me done with football

I think it's right that should the worst happen there'd be a new Sunderland started from scratch and that's who I'd support, if that didn't happen then I'd pack it in too. Football is Sunderland to me. I watch other games but I don't really give a **** what happens in them.

When I go to Sunderland games I see people I've known for over 40 years. When I go to home games I pass through Durham, where I was born, and meet up with NE based mates who are great lads. I hear the various accents that make me feel at home. At away games I see the Nottingham lads that I travelled with for decades.

If SAFC fold I'd watch any other club that can match that ...

... otherwise I'll simply not bother.

Football now is a much better product, but much less enjoyable.

Nobody in this country, I’ll only support my local team...so whatever club rose from the ashes I guess.
