What actually happened is that my post attracted multiple posts from people 'welcoming me back to the forum'.

That drew out the Trolls like Abu Dhabi, Colin Todd, etc who were hurt by the attention I was getting.

Once my post received over 60 likes it was too much for Pancho to bear <laugh>

That Colin Todd cant be a Sunderland fan he only posts negative ****e.

Proper sad act..

I think every win brings him closer to staying. It's definitely still in play. I can only speak for myself, but I'm ok with him doing that if we get promoted and he still has FPP oversight, and if I know our fans, it will only be a few more wins before that becomes a public sentiment.

We also don't know that FPP have made an actual bid to own the club now, or what their valuation is in total. I'd hazard an opinion based on what we've seen and heard, that the $12m is about 25% of the club as Donald values it, and if we get promoted could be converted to 25% equity instead of being paid back. That's everyone's ideal scenario. At that point, they'd perhaps look to do another deal, with the outcome potentially a majority stake IF Donald does well.

But I really think anyone thinking FPP are waiting to take over a majority share in us in the next few months is going to be very disappointed.
I think you're right. I'm a bit concerned though that if we do get promotion all the haggling kicks off again over the summer and we end up going up having been unable to build a squad capable of staying in the championship. Would be nice to get things sorted as early as possible to allow us to build a proper squad over the summer.

Hopefully SD is true to his word (for a change!) and does complete on a sale by the end of Feb, including the bonuses for promotions so there needn't be any more haggling or uncertainty after this month. Then we can concentrate on getting promotion and strengthening the management structure, staff, and squad. I won't hold my breath though.

No I won't hold my breath either. As Kittenmittons says I think every win brings him closer to staying. I can see the $ signs spinning around in his eyes at the thought of promotion.

Its gonna be a rollercoaster ride yet I think as we wont find out about sale either way till end of season once promotion is or isn't confirmed.

Doesn't the promotion bonus deal with that? So it doesn't matter when he sells?

Same mate just think hes over his head he had the right intentions.

If he gets us promoted and passes onto a new owner who can improve us further then well done to him and thank you.
I reckon if we knew the full truth of the situation we were in it may change minds.
Short left us dead and buried but redeemed himself by writing off his mistakes which to us is like writing off £150 on a bad coat.

It would but I can't see FPP or new buyers agreeing to it at this stage (may be wrong)
Promotion changes the ball game and I can see the haggling starting all over again.
However we don't really know whats going on behind the scenes. Like you say would be great to get things sorted asap so we can move on

I agree. I still think, even with all the stuff about Donald and bonuses and other buyers, the most likely event is that FPP have agreed a deal with Donald which hinges on promotion. The timing of replacing Ross with Parky fits in with that and they’ve advanced £10m to ensure the necessary resources to achieve it...... albeit described as something else...... it’s the only thing that makes any sense with the loan.If we go up at the end of May, FPP will pay SD the agreed price and assume control. If not, SD will be talking to the other people he thinks are interested, because FPP will see that as failure.... not something they’re used to..... and will want their loan back.

Promotion is not massive financial wise. Same crowds, not much more TV money. Its Premier league or nowhere.

Very true. Will potentially cost our owners who ever they are a lot more to build a successful team but the prospect of the potential premiership riches if we are successful is a game changer from where we are now.

Especially with the amount of players out of contract next season.

Be a clean slate to build but will require a lot of investment.
