re: FPP making a statement - the fact they didn't even make one when they put money in, even a press release saying they were happy to be doing so, probably means it's not a given that we'd be seeing one if they ever pull out for good.

He, and I, didn't say it was a given.

He does believe they'd make a statement out of courtesy to the supporters ....

.... especially as they're intent on buying a football club.

Yeah I get that, I'm just saying that based on what they've done before, they haven't ever clarified that they were interested in buying us publicly, or even talked about it in any way. Making a statement confirming they're not interested in something doesn't seem to fit their style so far.

Sartori anyone?

Be a turn-up if it was him. Not quite sure how that would work, and not sure they'd bin FPP off necessarily if it was him... he's already a shareholder in Madrox so he's one of the few people who probably would keep the current structure the same potentially.

Believe me I know nothing apart from he still is lurking in the background somewhere.

Yeah.
They are only bit-part investors in the Marlins. There are huge cultural differences between US sports and English football. Money is helpful but if it's not spent right, it doesn't matter. The rest of it is just that, rumours. We might get someone better, we might get someone worse. I don't see what's wrong with that opinion. You don't have to be sorry if you're disappointed, that's your prerogative.

To be fair though, it's a hell of a sized bit part. If they invested the same amount in us that they invested in The Marlins, Id be delighted

One of those things was always vague and never at a point that could be announced.

The other, not buying the club, would be definitive.

So they're two entirely different things.

He (and others) will blame the fans though, despite the takeover (after which he "hoped to stay on") becoming an investment then became a loan, several weeks before the protest.
Ohhh it’s know doubt the fans will get the blame
Remember it’s the dickhead fans and there’s plenty

True, but I guess my feeling is that based on their profile, they aren't a 'public statement' group of guys. Another reason why I quite like them really, clearly isn't a vanity project.

If all is to be believed
What Donald has said
The dickhead fans who forced him out are to blame
However I know nowt

I'm just laughing at Jardine on RTG mate.

He's obviously been desperately waiting for FPP to fall through so he could have a go at me ...

... he's seen this news, got himself all excited and dived in feet first <laugh>

What a miserable sack of shyte the lad is ...

... openly celebrating what could be a massive blow to our club.

Please....someone take on this club and do the right thing, We have 47,000 stadium that we could fill if the right owners made the right decisions, we have a world class academy, we have the most enviable fan base...surely someone can see this or this me just being blinkered.

Sorry mate I would do but there's quite a few birthdays coming up and we're buying a new sofa, not sure I can swing it just now.

Aye alas a spurned Charlie has informed FPP of the "Sunderland Disease"(it's well known in the game). The fans "unrealistic expectations" is directly responsible for the club anually fighting off relegation from the Premier League, the ultimate relegation that ensued, the subsequent relegation to the third tier and it's failure to achieve promotion. If only the club could rid itself of these 30-40,000 people success would be a formality. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Sadly crowd size/gate receipts are less important these days.

Hi mate, sorry I've been out all day and just catching up with my messages.

The only one, from anyone capable of commenting, is quite ambivalent.

It's a bit of a ramble but the gist is that it could simply be a mechanical measure to enable a simpler transaction, a tax situation or even a way to force Donald into 'put up or shut up' situation.

Or it could simply be them pulling out ...

... however, he reckons they'd have made a brief statement if that were the case.

So it could mean 'everything or nothing' as he put it.

Sorry but that's all I have mate.

about as clear a message as i would expect right now. whatever happens i personally think we'll have new owners by March.
