Could Marco be the player close to the club? It maybe Gary Bennett?
You have a good point there! When Short was trying to sell up didn't he leave all the leg work to Martin Bain? I'm sure Donald said that it was Bain who he primarily dealt with throughout the takeover process and that he barely spoke to Short. Maybe Donald has brought Rodwell in to deal with the potential buyers as a middle man? Given the way Donald goes on it's probably better to have a buffer between him and FPP. I'm probably way off the mark but it's just a thought

Anyone do a quick recap of the latest goings on? Haven't really been focusing too much on what's been going on football wise. Any hopeful news regarding takeover etc wouldn't go amiss atm. Cheers.

Ffs forgot about that ponce. Cheers for that.Main news is no real news.
Bad news is Jardine is still breathing.
Cheers mate. Just noticed a lot of bitching back n forth on the SMB and thought summat had changed. No real change mate, which is good news imo.
FPP still around, Donald floundering imo and no other credible buyer sticking around for long.
The FPP 'loan' hasn't been repaid.
Longer this goes on more SD is goosed, no way can he afford to soak up the economic hit that’s coming with this lockdown, arse will be twitching like a camels ball bag in a sandstormNo real change mate, which is good news imo.

Now that actually makes sense.didn't somebody say that Rodwell was on the EFL and FA boards/comittee ? and that FPP had taken advice from a former England manager? Could it be that FPP have asked McLaren to headhunt them a new CEO to ease SD out of the day to day stuff and get him bedded into the job ready to implement their plans during a phased takeover, as well as keeping an eye on any further investment they might make along the way? their own man in charge if you like, leaving SD as a chairman in name only, but free to go back to his main business.

Have you asked your co-workers if their views have changed, do they believe that they could have had an impact on the purchase, or who else, Charlie?I don’t believe doing the loan was what FPP wanted. I believe my coworkers (from two separate conversations) when FPP were in the box next to them at “that game” that they were signing paperwork to takeover the club. Something happened - maybe talking to my pissed up coworkers - and they didn’t takeover the club, but did the loan as the loan gets them what they want in a more painful manner for the whomever I presume caused the deal to go sour. That last sentence is allegedly.
My coworkers just happened to be in the company box next to where FPP watched the match. I’m working with lad who is pictured in the background when FPP were watching the match. I’ll have a chat with him tomorrow. It was coincidence that they were next to them and the company I work for do not do business with SAFC or FPP. What I do know is they said FPP said a “deal” had been done. I’ll check tomorrow if they got clarity on a full takeover or the loan. But at that point everyone was under the impression from what had been leaked that this was a takeover so that was probably what my coworkers thought was meant by the deal was being done. They actually said FPP were signing documents at half or full time. Apparently FPP were interested in talking about football rules, formations, players etc... as they weren’t that clues up on the game itself. To answer your other questions the person or people who could have caused a change of heart wouldn’t have been from talking to my coworkers but either whoever said it was a takeover and told everyone the fanzines etc... it was a takeover and not a loan (SD).Have you asked your co-workers if their views have changed, do they believe that they could have had an impact on the purchase, or who else, Charlie?

If you look at everything that has gone a phased takeover looks most likely but a takeover it will be. They’ve done due diligence, had Steve McClaren as an advisor, visited and put their money into the club. 3 Billionaires don’t spend the weekend watching 3rd tier football in Suddick for a laugh.
KTF!
Nailed it, I believe it’ll all be done eventually and we’ll just have to be patient waiting. IThis is exactly as it was told to me by my Italian billionaire ex-employer.
The Americans were openly talking to people about the takeover and seemed really pleased about it all.
Then suddenly it all because a bit nasty and all kinds of accusations were flying around.
It'll all come out eventually, but not from me, I've already had my knuckles rapped.
