Would end up like that Monty Python sketch about Yorkshiremen saying how hard life was in their day. "Rod Belfitt? You were lucky, me fatha made me watch Didier N'Dong, Jack Rodwell AND Papy Djilobodji" etc. :emoticon-0102-bigsm
****ing haway man, some of us have witnessed all of them. Although I was fairly young when Belfitt was around

I don't think I'll ever get over that 2016-17 season. Donald Love starting premier league games at right back. Steven Pienaar haunting midfield from beyond the grave. Signing Joleon Lescott and giving him a game at the end of the season instead of a youngster who may never get the opportunity to play in the PL.

**** David Moyes, **** all of them. I hate the people who made those decisions. There's a way to get relegated, and that's not it.

Something I read that I thought was interesting btw - Mel Morris talking about some of his negotiations with Dell/MSD

I think that's relevant to us. At the minute FPP have a great deal because if football comes back financially weaker or more... 'volatile', they're able to walk away. They have loads of options, all of them really. Nobody can force them to do anything, even if Donald didn't pay back the loan, they could recover it without ever owning us.

But if things come back strong and we progress, they can convert to equity and get more into it.

But buying us is an inherently risky position in an industry that is just massively in flux and not guaranteed to come out better than it was. I was reading Warren Buffet's investment firm lost $50bn in Q1, which will be replicated on a smaller scale with MSD, which is probably a huge focus for Phelan and Piatek. Ditto Fuhrman at his PE house. 'These people are more cautious' is a good indicator of why our deal is what it is.

see reasons like this are why I have a feeling the mags won’t get there takeover, it’s just a really random time to be spending that much money on a club that needs loads of investment.

Just read that story, apparently they were close last year to buying a club before investors came in... I wonder?
Says they were beaten by a foreign investor so if I’m thinking your wondering It was us he was talking about then obviously not.

If TV money becomes less important clubs like SAFC could benefit ...

... our incredible support would be rewarded because our money would be of greater significance.

At the moment people in Botswana, watching Liverpool on TV, wearing Liverpool shirts and Klopp baseball caps are more important than a kid in Peterlee actually going to the game.

It's completely fu**ed up.

The longer this drags on the greater the chance that we could see ourselves in the championship.

I read somewhere that approximately 25% of clubs are struggling. Whether you like SD or not i'm glad that he's managed to get us into the position where we're not one of the 25%

Would love Sky to go bust and the whole house of cards to tumble in on itself. Sky has absolutely ruined football, ****ing Bournemouth in the top league getting 1/3 of our gates while we are two leagues lower is farcical. I listen to 606 on Radio5 and the "Liverpool" and "Man.Utd" fan callers are all Cockneys and have probably never even been anywhere North of Watford let alone the North West. It is plastic, it's fake which is why it attracts plastic, fake "fans" şitting in their sitting rooms wearing their replica shirts cheering on a football team whose games they have never attended and never will.

Is the right answer ....

Spot on mate

These threads have a natural life mate and, as they say, where there's life there's hope.

I personally don't think @wearside wanderer II 's thread will be too popular ...

... who wants to talk about us being shyte, there's been plenty of threads like that ready.

Thats the problem, I don’t want to start a thread, it would be decent if posters stuck to the thread title rather than talking about crap that has nowt to do with a takeover.
It’s hardly difficult, as mentioned previously you look and think something may have moved and no, it’s some joker taking about Steve Hetzke or some other donkey.

Football has always attracted the ‘glory hunters' but the difference now is that social media and global tv coverage allows the glory hunters to be spread further afield.
If we were successful rather than the farce we’ve become there’d be plenty jumping on our bandwagon as well.
