  1. Would anyone have taken an embarrassing 6-0 battering by Man City if it meant we had beaten Arsenal 1-0...? Would have left us a point better off and above Arsenal but we'd all be feeling pretty **** right now.

Not about signings but about players playing with pride and a system starting to look like it maybe worthwhile believing in.

I'm not going to put a downer on the last 2 performances. One seemed to build upon the other. For the first time in a long time we looked dangerously purposeful in all areas of the pitch. Here comes the BUT.

Both of those games were away from home. It will be very interesting to see how Rodgers will adapt our style to meet the needs of a home side. Here's a BUT again....

I'M REALLY HAPPY WITH THE WAY WE ARE GOING

I wouldnt.....The performance is what has brought a smile to my face and im sure if we continue this next year we can kick on and maybe get some wins against the teams at the top.

I agree the performance left me feeling much more confident that Rodgers can make this system work and that it is a system that is effective. A lot of work still to be done if we are to challenge top 4 next season but the last few weeks have been a step in the right direction.

Bar Oldham, I agree. We do have to stop dropping points when we should be getting all three though.

Solid performance, imagine what we could have achieved yesterday with 11 players. (Yes that was a Downing criticism). I was one who thought Gerrard should have been dropped at the beginning of the season, but his form has been very impressive the last couple of months and seems to be lifting the squad as a whole.

perfect way to look at it. take it in bands of 4.

the next 4 games will decide our season... 3 home games and the team with the big lead on us to boot. if we take 10 or 12 points out of 12 we could get back in the race.

West brom are poor... but organised. we ought to be beating that lot all day if we've aspirations. wigan are dross again and have not yet picke dup their form like say reading have or they did last year so I hope we don't take them lightly and let them ge tout of the relegation thier club so richly deserves and we owe swansea a hammering big time.

Then forget those 4 games and look to the next 4... every single one is winnable and if you were utd or city you'd say 10/12 minimum here lads.

Then the final bank of 4........ hmmmm difficult. i think we are capable fo taking 7/12 here with fulham and everton being games we ought to go well in and the other two big unknowns...

then qpr to eithe rbe gone or fighting ofr thier lives as a last hurrah.

all in all the next 4 should either kill us off or give us momentum.. the next 4 should build on it and then we hit the real tough end of the season.

Personally these next 4 are unpredictbale. we need to win all 4 and be looking at scaring the pants of spurs as a result.. perhaps be with 3/4 points of them by the end of that spurs game... if we end up 9points back after these we're done.

a real team with real guts improves from here on in and powers on as the season gets to the shapr end... so do we have the guts to put those midtable teams to the sword, hammer wigan then put i nanother big effort v spurs ala arsenal/city?
