Lambert's at the arse end of his carear, playing for the club he supports & earning a hefty wedge. He won't be coming here.
 
I called Lambert sometime ago, he is only getting bits and pieces in games, this is not doing his international chances any good whatsoever sat getting splinters in his arse on the bench or the occasional full run out for the cups, he would be the ideal fit the way we`re playing at present, whether he would want to come remains to be seen, but always worth an enquiry. At least with us he would get game time, get his match fitness back up and put himself back into Woy`s thoughts.

Highly doubt it but deffo worth asking.
 
Here's my suggestions for cheap signings:

Arouna Kone - back from injury, Everton may loan him out for fitness?
Scott Sinclair - could be available for under £3m
Kevin Doyle - bags of experience, Irish lads know him well

I wanted Deeney in the summer rather than Hernandez and wish we had have done that. He maybe costly now but if he keeps us in the division then its money well spent. If we go down then jobs still a good un as he will excel in the championship.
