Just reflecting on the crowd participation yesterday and we need to emulate this next season. The fans created a toxic atmosphere for Chelsea and it scared the **** out of them in a similar way to the one we had with Gus Poyet years ago.

Next season we will need all of our fans behind the team, even if things go wrong. Let us make the SOL a fortress again and have visiting teams at a disadvantage before kick off.

Put all of the pressure on any visiting team. If they can play through that and get any points, then they deserve it.

Not in the slightest.

I find it strange and amusing that you hang around trying to get people upset on the forum of a team you don't support. Calling someone bitter yesterday cause they gave their opinion on a "guard of honor" for two players leaving City. Then you are here doing laughing emoji on this post?

Do you do this on all different teams boars trying to get a bite it just Sunderland? Do you get a kick out of it?

I'll wait now for your "clever" reply aboit how you have got to me or I'm biting etc....

Was brilliant on Sunday.

Not as charged as some games, not as spiky, just relentless support.

Was fantastic. This must be a record season for new songs that have caught on, absolute wall to wall with great chants at the minute.

Chelsea fans we interacted with were all sound, fair play. They were quiet in the SOL mind, or did we just drown them out?

Was just perfect with the sun.

Only heard them once after Palmers goal (East Stand halfway line). Glad he never go going.

Good to hear their fans were class.

Remember back in 62-63 iirc last game of the season at Roker v Chelsea, we had to win to go up and ended up losing 0-1 and I thought all last week please don't lets have a repeat.....and lo and behold the lads didn't fail us.
What a team we've got, has there ever been better times in my 60+. years supporting this club. I doubt it.

End of season '64 was just as brilliant at Roker....King Charlie leading the lads....now it's King Granit. We've created fortress mentality over the years following on from that many times, but more often in recent times for individual matches, rather than every one.....understandable given our history over the last 15 years or so. I remember Reidy saying he looked in the eyes of our opposition in the tunnel, seeing fear and apprehension.
I think what I've witnessed in the last 12 months would be the best .

Where it’s different to the wonderful and eternally memorable Reidy years is the foundations.

We never hit solid ground under Reid he never had that financial safety.

This is a permanent change, a perfect storm of a club on its knees, an only way is up theory and a wealthy young man who wants to make a mark.

It’s night and day in that sense and we have every reason to think we’ve barely started.

We somehow got a wonderful owner who also fits us morally and emotionally we are blessed.
