I didn't actually play on the Slice one. Once we'd gotten the deal following a bidding war, the record company syphoned off the singer and made an expensive album with session musicians, like Sting's guitarist and Maria McKee on backing vocals. It flopped and he was dropped, never to sign another deal. I made more money playing the glam covers.

This is a local band who are doing quite well, I'm a big fan.

I'd like to get them in the studio with a bassist. I do like their pants and the yellow kit, so they're halfway there. The Gibson SG is an interesting choice of guitar, played by Zappa, Young and Iommi, more a muso choice than an indie one, so bonus point. I did think it was going to be a cover of the Don Henley song, which has a special place in my heart as a breakup song. It was 1985...
