Hi all, I know there are some from here that used or still do frequent over the road.

A lad there has posted through his cancer battle with upbeliveablr courage, dignity and a fair bit of humour.

He has a major operation in London on the 22nd of October and as usual he will be getting the train down the night before.

Surely we can do better for him?

What were you thinking of mate?
His posts have been brilliant...very inspirational.

He can't get the train down, I can't drive him, but have offered to drive his Bristol based daughter down.
I don't know what to suggest he is to proud to accept anything, but for a bloke I've never met I can't sit back and wait for an update without trying to help somehow

Had many a tear in my reading about his treatment etc, also many a tear with laughter as well, truly a remarkable person
Exactly and the thought of him getting a train to London next week doesn't sit right with me

Thing is, from his point of view the train might be his best option. I mean that in the sense that train is quicker than car, therefore may be more comfortable.
We could chip in and upgrade him to first class, i would happily contribute.
Or a flight down?
Is he travelling with someone?

All he said was he was travelling on the train at the front.

I'm probably being a knob about it and it's all fine, but I'd hate to think after all he's has and will go though that there wasn't more I and we could do

I'm in mate.

Tell him people want to help and would be pissed off if he refuses, who does he think he is!

You can put me down for the price of a Wycombe match ticket.

I have a few spares and will put the cash from one of them in your hat.

Great poster that lad, he's helped a lot of people cope and you can't put a price on that.

Get him telt.

Abolutely spot on that.

I'd be willing to contribute to a flight for him.
Depends how sick he is.Quite a few airlines wont have sick people travel on their planes in case they fall I'll while travelling.
Quite often something written from the oncologist is required.

As i said on other posts thanks to an idea from a poster called Flared Hicks and myself, I arrived at his house unexpected with some tea. Long story. What a lovely lad and very inspirational. I feel a bit guilty in a way as I went to see him after surviving and so far being clear of bowel cancer but he had asked me about my treatment etc. He has been through hell really and continues to fight. It would be nice yo help in any way,

All he said was it was organised.

As I dont know him, I didn't want to pester him

I could easily drive him but mebees, just like i do, he enjoys the solace of the mackem express and looking at the english countryside lost in thought- get well foggy, fighting fear must be terrifying
