Aye lad ! SSN > Wolves striker Steven Fletcher has confirmed that he has handed in a transfer request. Sunderland have had bids rejected this month
@stevenfletch10 Just handed in a transfer request just to let the fans know where I am at right now.... #headsgone Announced it via twitter.
GOing to be talking about it on Talksport in a moment, I know a lot of you hate the station but may be interesting.
Personally I would tell wolves to get stuffed and I hope we screw them in this deal. They are not in a strong position. There is holding out for a good price and losing the plot. Pleased Fletcher has played his hand. Sadly this seems to be the way of footballers these days, gyan, bent. Etc.
To be fair to Fletcher at least he's looking at a move to a club in an indisputably better position, as in, in a higher division. Bent moved sideways (at best) and Gyan moved to a tin pot league for cash, which is a lot more contemptible in my opinion.
I like this move, means he's keen to move, and also undermines Wolves attempt to skull-**** us over the fee. £8million, to £10million with add ons (15 goals, top 10 finish), take it or leave it, ****bags. Fair?
Wolves can confirm that Steven Fletcher has handed in an official transfer request. The player’s frustration stems from the fact that several bids have been rejected for his services, none of which meets the Club’s valuation. As previously stated, no player will leave Wolves unless the Club’s valuation is met. Steven Fletcher joined Wolves in June 2010, signing a four year contract with an option for a fifth year. The 25-year-old Scottish International has finished as top goalscorer in both of his seasons at Molineux, reaching double figures in the Barclays Premier League on both occasions. He made 26 Premier League starts last season, scoring 12 top flight goals. Wolves will be making no further comment at this time.
Hold on lads what's to stop him doing this to us if he does well with us next season (big if in my opinion)? I remember everyone on here and the old 606 going mental when Bent left and when Gyan decided that camel humping was more of a pastime than getting chased by seagulls at Seaburn. Still not for me but, I suppose MON sees something in him that no other manager of a PL team does and, for the price being bandied about I just hope he's right.
Well the top 8 will already have better striker's on their books, so no need for Flectcher, and most teams around us are in a healthy position in regards to forward's. So I don't think it's a case of other PL manager's not wanting him. Will this start a bidding war between 2 or 3 side's now? If there is actually anyone else wanting his services.
Cant see us gettin him cheap just cos herequest put in a transfer request just means they more likely to accept our last offer
handing one in and accepting one are 2 different things as well, he has showed his hand, Wolves can still say No (SKP handed 3 in for us, all turned down until we went down and we had to get rid at a cut price), which is what should have happened here, they got relegated, his value just plummeted, not risen ffs. We should bid 4 million if they say no, tell them to do one.
have to agree with Blackcatsteve, Wolves are playing a game and in one respect I would love us to walk away (after getting another striker ideally). If they are not in the running for promotion come the next transfer window his value will plummet, clubs would know Wolves would not be able to afford/keep hold of him facing another season in the Championship.
They may not have a choice, remember Turner, we bought him for 11 million according to the media, turns out is was closer to 3 million in reality, it does happen.
