Carabao Cup at the first round stage.

First round draw details . . . .

Sunderland will enter the Carabao Cup at the first round stage for the 2022-23 season, and the ball numbers for Thursday’s draw have been confirmed.

The Lads have been allocated ball number 33 in the Northern section of the draw, alongside fellow clubs from the Sky Bet Championship and those from League One and League Two.

Last season saw a remarkable run from the team to the last eight of the competition, eliminating four clubs before the journey ended at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal, as the last surviving club from outside the Premier League.

The draw will be made this Thursday 23rd June at 2:30pm live on Sky Sports, following the release of the 2022-23 league fixtures at 9am.

First round ties are scheduled to be played in the week commencing August 8th.
