I bet they were Mull of Kintyre and a K-Tel Top of the Pops covers compilation and you've suppressed the memory. You can get counselling for that, and probably compensation.I don't remember my first single or album
does that make me bad
probably not as it wasn't a question on the psychopath test

My first single was 'Something Else' by the Sex Pistols. 1979? I bought it in Harlequin records which was next door to the Shepherds Bush Metropolitan line station, opposite the market and a few doors down from Parksy's. I remember playing the B-side, it was called 'Friggin in the riggin.' I couldn't believe my ears. There was swearing on a record! I played it to death, but only when my mum and dad weren't about.
My first album was Madness - Absolutely. It was released in 1980 and the first album I could afford. They also did a series of matinee gigs at the Hammersmith Odeon and it was only a pound to get in. That was my first ever concert and I was aged 13.
My wife has seen them 3 times on their latest/last tour. I saw them once, and got told off for sitting down and playing with my phone for a good chunk of it. Just not my thing, but undoubtedly fantastic professionals and at two hours great value for money - good job for the cost of them. And a drum solo! Apparently they really didn't like playing IoW.Didn't think I liked them that much but after seeing them at the IOW festival this year.....realised how amazing they are live.
From Gary Glitter to Aphex. It must be a natural progression.
As I said my first album was the Beatles - With the Beatles which I had for Christmas in 1963 when I was 8, I still have it plus the 400 odd others I have collected sinceFirst single - the free electric band by Albert Hammond in 1973.
First Album - Queen by Queen also 1973.
I was 10 at the time and had a part time job so splashed out on some vinyl. Still have the Queen album.
That was one of my first singles too and I still remember being shocked and laughing at the broken glass lyric. My first single was 'Something Else' by the Sex Pistols. 1979?
