I went down on the Friday and stayed at a mates house. Met up with a couple of Washington (Cherry Tree) mates at the ground who had gone down on the bus.
I came back on the Monday.

SAFC 4-4 Charlton AET, 6-7 on pens
First away league game was Burnley in 2004, won 2-1 thanks to Gary Breen and Marcus Stewart.

I was at that matchMay 77, penultimate game of the season, Norwich, 2-2, metal fences, viv Busby, coming back from 2 down, bobby kerr, getting the full end rather than the 1/3 section earmarked, watching Bradford city fans fighting I cant remember who in a service station car park.
Mine was Wigan away, ****hole. It was the season Elmo was called back from Hull on loan then went back after 1 game or something. Anyway we won 2-0.... I think.

My first and best away match. Newcastle 1- Sunderland 4. The Rowell hat trick etc. Perfect and hard to top.
