To be honest, i still think Boruc should be the number 1, not through Gazzaniga's mistakes, simply because Boruc is generally a better goalkeeper.

Last two matches have proved gazza needs to go out on loan and learn his trade. He keeps going way he is he is going he'll be contributor to team being relegated

I'd play myself in goal before Boruc. He has a massive negative impact on the side. If Gazzaniga were to be dropped (which he shouldn't) then Kelvin should play

I swear all of your posts have been either about Boruc's strengths or Gazza's weaknesses...

I don't suppose the B in LauraB stands for... Boruc? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He does speak English, he did an interview in English when he signed but it would be a stretch to call him fluent.

It's not just that though, it's more that he seems almost shy and rarely shouts at the defenders, unlike Boruc, which gives me the impression Boruc is better at organising the defence.

For me Gazzanigga's errors are mostly derived from poor decision-making that comes from a lack of experience. His technical ability for his age is impressive. He'll learn, we have to have faith and stick with him.

Or alternatively we could get him out on loan to do that learning somewhere else. I'd have faith in Boruc and Davis as well, so I think it could be a good move.

Wouldn't we rather he get that experience, and get the rest of the mistakes out of his game, somewhere else?

It's not just the errors though, he just never looked comfortable, and he let Taarabt's tame shot through his hands, if it hasn't fortunately hit his head that would have been a very soft goal. We were lucky he wasn't tested more.

He reminded me of Bialkowski in that Blackpool game last season and we all know what happened to him.

Exactly the way I see it. I like Gazza, I think he's got a lot of potential, but we can't afford to let him learn with us if it's gonna cost us points like it did in the Swansea game. Stick him in the Championship to let him get some confidence and iron his mistakes out.

I feel mostly the same. But really it is not for me to judge, it is for the big man to decide, if Nigel believes he has the talent and ability, then hopefully he will stick with him, if he believes his inexperience and poor decision making outweighs the upside of his promised potential, then bring in Boruc or Super Kelv. But Nigel thought Boruc was the better option before his little incident, so that just confuses the situation. For me, as an outsider looking in, I would stick with Gazza because of his talent and because I don't want to upset the team spirit or rhythm. But there's no bad choice out of the three right now in my opinion, so whatever Nige decides I will back him!

I think if I was more comfortable with the alternatives then I'd back a loan move for Gazza. Davis made a number of mistakes in our first six or so games though granted the context was slightly different. Boruc I haven't seen enough of; thought he was fairly competent against Spurs and couldn't give a stuff about the bottle incident. Whoever is given the jersey Adkins needs a good run between the sticks.

That's what I've been saying for the last 2 weeks. His performances have not encouraged me to change my mind.

I bet Adkins has still got it. He should put himself between the sticks.

My higher consciousness coming through there, let's give Adkins a run out in goal see how he gets on.

Did you see the prematch interview? A journalist said to Adkins that he must know what it was like...being only a back up keeper. Nigel's face was a picture. He laughed and said, 'I can't believe you said that.' Adkins may know how you are a good keeper, but didn't necessarily do it himself.

Maybe, but i did see Gazza shouting at the defenders a few times yesterday. It is a question that does divide opinion for sure, but for me i would sooner see Gazza have another game or two before making a decision to drop him. Just havnt seen enough of Boruc to know how he really is - wasnt too impressed by what little i have seen. Gazza did make a few saves yesterday - QPR did threaten on occassion. We were just a much better team over the course of the whole game - the way Saints rallied again after QPR scored was excellent and it was mostly one way traffic after that and we really should have scored quite a few more goals.

I think someone made a rather smart observation, the other day, about the three keepers at Saints. On making a particular save, the wit announced [I'm paraphrasing here] that Gazzaniga did well to parry it behind for a corner. Davis would have saved it, but parried it back into danger, from which the opposition would have scored, and Boruc would still not have moved.

Personally, I think there is little between them, at present. Gazzaniga gets my vote because, on the whole, he's a fine keeper who will just get better, and his distribution [which needs a little tuning on his choices] is usually excellent, with feet or hands. Davis can't distribute accurately enough and Boruc still hasn't moved. :)
