But if he doesn't play, he never will be. This is the dilemma, neither Boruc nor Gazzaniga are currently good enough, and they won't be unless they play regularly, so which one do you pick?

Boruc's attitude is a problem but he would get the nod from me. He is proven at the highest level. Gazzaniga will perhaps take over from him in a couple of years.

All three of them are about as shocking as each other. What a terrible choice....

Mistakes are costly, especially for goalkeepers, but you learn from mistakes. We need a fixed GK so the back four know who they are working with. Gazza deserves more games. He could be a great keeper.

I like the look of the team more with Gazzaniga. He's certainly made a mistake today but we should stick with him.

I agree. Since Kelvin was dropped our defensive performances have not improved and i have felt in a few games that he would have been a better choice. However if Nigel is wanting to develop Gazza into a top goalkepper then i understand why he is picking him ahead of SKD. I have not seen anything to recommend Boruc as first choice.

Boruc needs games and as for his attitude well he got some welcome from his supposed own fans. He isn't type of guy who will ignore it

Maybe Bialkowski should have been given a chance after all.

Then he is the type of guy who will not be playing much. He's a professional, he has to ignore it.

It's between AB and PG. Boruc is better on paper but he'll need games to prove his quality and it would be harsh to drop Gazzaniga who has done little wrong, plus Boruc's attitude may weaken his performances. Gazzaniga for me, we can't keep changing the 'keepers round.

Professional or not I dont see why he should stand there and take it. Clearly not throwing items or swearing if he did but some charming fans at Southampton if you choose to not only abuse one of your own players let alone a guy who is new to your club. Nice welcome on your home debut.
Personally the gaffer needs to pick a keeper and stick with one barring injury or confidence issue as someone stated before.

What do you suggest he should have done then? Players should not get involved with the crowd, simple as that. I'm not defending the idiot fans, but you just can't react to it.

He just isn't the character not to react to it and second half of that game he was getting right behind the team. Some players will ignore it and others will react. It's human nature. And it be out of frustration as well as he will know himself he's lacking match fitness. Don't get why he didn't get run of half a dozen under 21 games at least and then put in first team

Gazza has been slow to react to a shot, he just doesn't have the explosive movement towards the ball, one on one against Jelavic he didn't move much at all, and while he couldn't have done anything against dyer's shot he didn't move well to it. Kelvin is championship standard at best. Whereas Boruc has all the big game experience moves very well commands his area, is a great shot stopper and speaks fluent english. This is only conjecture but I think when Gazza made that hospital pass he may not have told Yoshida to clear it as his communication with the players is still developing.

Not sure who I would pick against QPR as I haven't seen the players day in day out. Ultimately I would like to see a fully fit Boruc in goal. Adkins will make the right choice.

I wonder what the poll result would be if it were conducted today ? Surely NA will go for Boruc now, unless there is some other issue we don`t know about.

Well, about 1 minute ago, I voted for Gazza. He is young and will make mistakes. He is part of a team that has drawn and won the last two games. His confidence will improve and so will his concentrating and handling. Any City fans up for dropping Joe Hart.

Boruc. Gazzaniga is a constant liability. He was very poor yesterday, and made a major error in the Swansea game. Not commanding at all when coming for the ball.

Gazza did make a some mistakes yesterday but can't agree that you drop a goalkeeper, especially a young one, just because he is making some mistakes. For me i would like to see Saints perservere with him for a few more games at least - with Kelvin coming back if he is dropped. I would like to see how Kelvin performs against some of the lesser Prem attacks, as i dont think that he would be much different to either of the others.
I have read on here that Gazza doesnt speak/understand much English but during the warm up yesterday i noticed him talking with the goalkeeping coach and Kelvin and they seemed to be communicating OK.
