Fantastic Four First Steps, thankfully they haven't ****ed it up at the 3rd attempt 8/10
Have to admit this was a very enjoyable movie, best fantastic four film so far.

A particularly good scene was galacticus jumping down to earth and scooping up some carpark to sniff.

Very cool.

My one gripe was the silver surfer being a woman.

Just fuk off

Regardless I give this a 7.9/10

Films that have a matrix vibe

Dark city, telepathic aliens reduce mankind to npcs trapped on a disc world prison to study why humans have souls.
This came out the year before matrix and you can tell who got the bigger budget. Hard not to notice & laugh at the visuals but interesting concept.
5/10

Thirteenth floor, not watched this one yet but it's on the list of matrix like movies Im going through.

Well tbf there was actually a female Silver Surfer Shalla-Bal which is the character in the film.

She was the wife of the original Silver Surfer.

Hope this helps.

It's still woke ****ery

Ye but its 1970s woke ****ery.

You are obviously under the assumption that this Fantastic Four movie is based on Earth when it's emphatically not. It's an alternate Earth, Earth X actually.

Who was the Silver Surfer when Galacticus attacked Earth X...Shalla-Bal.

Did you miss all those films about the Multiverse?

Do pay attention kid.

Let's give Marvel their due here. Yes it’s Popcorn movie making. Yes it's CGi loaded theme park cinema and yes, for a good percentage of the time it's been not great.

But what it has always been is faithful to the source material 90% of the time. They very rarely stray from the beaten path and when they do it's inevitably farcical.

Me and my missus decided to go through the Pirates films, silly action films with some popcorn.

One thing I never noticed was how good some of the CGI and effects were, in fact, they make some of the recent Marvel films look like ****. How is CGI getting worse?
