My memory is terrible with tv stuff, but I did like Life on Mars, so maybe it was, because it;s rare for me to sit and watch something, funnily I was originally thinking Sweeney so the period of time would be right, but NOT the Sweeney because that was just too OTT.

One of my favourite lines was when the John Simms character (travelled back in time) is trying to defend the young girl cop to the old dinosaur (Phillip Glenister)

"She's the best detective in this place!"

"Then tell her to go and detect me a garibaldi to go with this cuppa"

... no doubt enraged the 'woke' but was very reflective of life in the early 70s for those that lived through it...<laugh>

Snowfall is very good, almost at the end of season 2. PEOPLE NEED TO WATCH THIS.
I genuinely picked up on this so Googled. The main character channels Denzel Washington throughout this show to the point that I did a search and he's a huge fan and does a very good impression.

Just done a quick Google:

During the budding drug epidemic in Los Angeles in the early 1980s, a crime family decides to make money selling cocaine. Meanwhile, a CIA operative also gets involved.

might have to give it a go

SAS Rogue Heroes. Same story done better.
It’s two different stories(that’s based on operation postmaster and disruption of the U boat operations/supplies). Honestly, give it a watch.

been reading more about Paddy Mayne, what a bloke.
But also the people Minestry of Ungentlemanly warfare is based on.The Danish bloke being the first non commonwealth recipient of the VC

Your last point is a little contentious - pretty sure a Swiss member of the Natal Native Contingent was one of the 11 VCs awarded at Rorke's Drift 1879...

... from watching the film Zulu numerous times!! <laugh>

Must have misread the info. You are right about the Swiss bloke getting one. But later than the first non Brit/commonwealth recipient. That was an American it seems.

Rings of Power S2:E6

Back to being largely ****e again, having shown some promise last week.

The show suffers from horrendous pacing issues. There are 5-6 main story arcs, and what we now have is 2/3 of them moving along at a decent pace, while the rest of them continue to plod around aimlessly in search of interest and inspiration. It makes the whole thing hugely frustrating to follow.
