If it's set between Alien and Aliens, and is on the same planet, which only had one settlement, logically it can't be anything other than a prequel.
Of course logic and reason left the building decades ago as far as the alien franchise is concerned.

I used to watch him as a kid bcos he was my dad's favourite comedian and as night follows day he would watch his show every week, and with one telly in them days so did I. His observational stuff and dry wit was fcking funny tbf.
