I think it relied a lot on the graphics (the whole dog changing scene kind of carried it or caught the attention of some). The original was better and could be made again without the creature looking as much like a walking cabbage <laugh>

the Thing remake was great at the time...watched it again not so long ago, and it's meh...

still a lot better than the b and w **** you 2 are going on about.

the oldies were not by a long way good....It's just nostalgia.
 
My issue with Scarface is that it starts getting actually interesting and then boom, its over.

I feel like he's "made it" for circa 5 minutes and then hes dead.

Rewatching it, it goes downhill fast after he kills Frank
