Every scientist that ever lived where? Here's another for you. In which Alien film did you see a Xenomorph eat anything?
How about chlorophyl from sunlight alone for certain plants? How do you know there's not something similar for Ridley's alien?
And there we have Big Ern's fundamental misunderstanding of "the first law of Thermodynamics" He thinks for an Alien to grow they must eat something. You know, like wot happens with humans and animals of Earth. Energy can come from all sorts of sources.
I don't have a problem with 4 because the characters and plot follow an easy definable logic. Prometheus is a pretty looking pile of pretentious **** where every character acts like the illogical bimbo that dies near the start of a poorly written teen slasher movie in almost every scene. Saying you think this film is good is as much as admitting you're a ******.
Can't you just enjoy a film that has a decent premise and despite the inaccuracies is still well made, and think it's good?
It's not a great film but it's not as bad as you're making out. Mind you it's obvious that most of the plot from all the Alien films has went right over your head.
Except it doesn't consume anything at all. Not surprised you like this film, it's pretentious and empty headed.
It's like saying Star Wars is **** because you can't here starship blasters in a vacuum i.e. space! It completely disobeys the laws of sound waves. Whole film series is therefore garbage. Come on man.
