hmm, hard one, depends what mood I'm in at the time, some favourites that aren't already in your list:
King solomon's mines (the 1950 version with Stewart Grainger, such a beautifully shot film)
The Matrix
Life of Brian
MP Holy Grail
The Usual Suspects
Aliens
The Emerald Forest (again, the scenery is amazing)
Carlito's Way
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Silent Running.
Ace in the Hole.
Star Wars should probably be on there, but I can't help seeing it through an adults eyes these days.
Edge of Tomorrow might make it onto that list, but it;s a bit new atm, so I don't know whether it will stand the test of time to me, like star wars hasn't.
Edit: compiling this list has led me to downloading the good, the bad and the ugly.
3:10 to Yuma was pretty good too, and Scarface with Pacino is essentially a remake. Keep meaning to find a copy of the original to watch, it's one of the films that caused the code to be properly enforced, a was banned in a few places.
Never watch a film you have read the book of first, it will piss you off and let you down.
I'm safe, not read a book since I was at school. Can't stand reading!
Has Clint Eastwood ever made a bad film? I can't think of any.

Watching The Thing...the original, classic.
Carpenter at his very best.He said the original, which is from 1951 and a Howard Hawks film.Rates very highly in the Rolling Stone greatest ever sci-fi AND horror chartsCarpenter at his very best.

That wasn't called 'The Thing'. That as 'The Thig From Another World'. It as an excellent film though. I watched it with my dad when I was a nipper.
The plot is the same, they simply dropped the 3 minor words from the original title, which has always been known as The Thing, even the poster has it as the main title. That wasn't called 'The Thing'. Although he probably did mean the 1980's remake.

Was good back in the day when you could watch 18 rated horror with your Dad without fear of growing up a mass murderer
I remember my dad watching Nightmare on Elm Street and letting me watch with him, can't remember exactly how old I was but I'm going to say about 7/8. Scared the **** out of me and him saying "just go to sleep and forget about it" was possibly the worst parenting I think I've ever heard of
I don't really like horror films.
I've never been a huge fan. Watched a few recent ones and they aren't so much scary as just trying to make you jump constantly. Is ****ing annoying some weird nun thing or clown popping out every 10 mins suprising you.
