I've spent eight months of my life in Qatar. It's a God forsaken hell hole of a **** tip.
The temperatures? Stick your head in an oven, then imagine that feeling all day and all night. That said they have pots of oil and tons of cash.
    What was Blatter thinking?

South Korea, Japan, Australia and the United States. All 4 are better options. The fat Arab wallets must turn Blatter on no end.

Still nine years to go.Long enough for the Qataris to start gassing one another. The Middle East might not exist by 2022.Could be much hotter than 50c.

some serious money has changed hands over this award, and that Bell End Blatter must have his fair share. No right minded person would ever thing of playing a football tournament in this region. Why not award it to Antartica next time..make as much sense.
I mentioned this before, I only play golf out here and am driving a buggy with cold towels provided on the way round, cold drinks all the time etc etc..The thought of running for 90 minutes in 50 degree heat is outrageous. I would have thought by now, some policing authority would have looked at this clearly corrupt bid and brought some of these parasites to justice.

You would expect a few of these rules to have been broken :

As well as the obvious incompetence and corruption, it annoys me that he still tries to justify it, along the lines of 'Europe and South America must accept that we don't own football'.

None of Japan, South Korea, Australia or USA are in Europe or South America. All would have been far better options.

The comments about who are as Europeans to not let the WC be held in other regions riled me completely. I have just had a holiday on the islands of Penang and Lankawi off thee coast of Malaysia and both of them have satellite TV where I watched several games from European countries. Europe has the biggest input via the numbers of FAs than any other region in the world but qualifying can be stacked against us via the number if countries desperate to qualify.

Secondly I have been to Russia and the Qatari regions and believe me outside of Moscow they are not equipped to host such an event. Travel within Russia say from Rostov to Moscow other than by flying is a no go, but doubtless there will be motorway and rail link built by then, so neither choice looked at the first and biggest consideration THE FANS. That, added to Tokyo hosting the 2020 Olympics should give FIFA some idea on just how daft their decision was.

He's worse than Bobby Mugabe, mate. At least Mugabe doesn't try to cover up what he is.

Blatter - how the **** is he still doing what he's doing? It's beyond me...

Does Blatter not think that the Euro leagues won,t take their ball and play somewhere else? fastest way to get a real world club championship going. Serious money must have changed hands for them to get it
yes it,s a world game but world cup needs to be played when most of world wants it, what next? A summer winter Olympics? Can just see the speed skaters sinking halfway round in Qatar

It sickens me how such open corruption can still exist.... and people still sit idely by. The only conclusion can be that they all have their snouts in the trough and are scared witless of it all falling down like a pack of cards. Remember the MP's and the duck pond scandal?... this is x10 worse for me.

We were meant to do well in South Africa for that same reason. Haha.

Tbh, the weather never came into thought. More the infrastructure and geography. Oceana having never hosted a World Cup. Perth being the only city really any distance from any where else. They have a public that would really buy into the idea despite soccer not being as prevailant as say rugby, cricket, Aussie rules, Crocodile wrestling. They could use a koala or kookaburra as a mascot and call it Kyle, my preferance being a kookaburra because it is less obvious,

If they put me in charge of their bid...lol

Not bothered about our chances mate. My thinking was an OZ winter is a lot better than a Middle Eastern Summer in term of reducing injuries at the tournament so more players return to our club without being crooked.

I think any country getting a world cup for the first time would be tremendous for the fans.

Sunderland take priority for me over England all day long.

Yeah mate. Tried spelling it three times and it didn't look right, even though I got it right. Spelling is not my strong point.

Don't roll your eyes at me fool! ;)
