That is nothing to do with FFP. That is the standard points deduction for entering into administration. Would love to see their justification. Their FFP punishment is still yet to be decided.
Derby given another 9 point deduction, now on minus 3 and 18 points from safety....... They have been given until 31st January to re-file 3 years accounts from 2016 to 2018 and also file 2019 and 2020 accounts, failure to do so will result in a further 3 points deduction.........
Now this is worrying. We have beaten Derby, Bournemouth, Fulham and WBA haven't. We don't want their results expunged
Feel sorry for them! Anyone feel sorry for us with that fine? No, so **** Derby & brought it on themselves & deserved what they got & should’ve been fined as well No sympathy whatsoever
As I recall Reading certainly and Derby later on were vociferous in calling for Rangers to be made an example of. Before we all get too carried away with sympathy for their plight. We learned the lesson. Eventually. Once TF's wings were clipped. Whereas so far as I can see Derby, Reading and Wednesday before them invested in dodgy accountants so that they could try to massage the figures and carry on as before.
EFL ‘standards’ are shot to pieces! They could be accused of multiple abuses of their own rules and application of them (from where we are sitting as a club and fans). as for those who were shouting for us to be made examples of? Be careful what you wish for … or find better ways of hiding your actions until you dig a big enough hole that you cannot hide anymore and drag your whole club down into an abyss. Then ask for everyone else to let poor old you get away with it … EFL, HMRC, businesses getting little back for the debts owed and of course the fans!
Derby supporters seem like a decent lot for the most part so I do feel for them if not for the lying, cheating owners. That's not true of Reading whose fans seem to revel in the financial chicanery (which is probably similar to what happens at their jobs in the City). Generally, this is all a damning indictment of the EFL and the laughable fit and proper owner tests.
It also happened a couple of years earlier when the same culprits demanded we get demoted instead of promoted after we won the Championship in the Warnock/Taarabt season. Because of Faurlingate. No financial shenanigans . We had paid £3m.to loan him from his slave master. Reading were certainly up for that even though they did not stand to benefit. Jealousy? Fake hoop syndrome (a bit like 'small man')? Who cares. The only person as I recall among our rivals who thought it would be wrong to deprive us of our reward at the end of the season was Brendan Rodgers then at Swansea.
