Well mort that's good news indeed, and I can only imagine the issues mentally, having not had this injury myself, though I have torn a lateral ligament in my knee, and had Physiotherapy for twisted knee, on more than one occasion. I'm sure we'll get the full picture as the squad is named, thanks for that Mort! My favourite player by a country mile, bite the bullet Ferrie boy, and get in there...............

The mental obstacle must be huge... and I mean absolutely huge. To come back from one injury like that is so hard to do, but with his history, it's no surprise he's feeling the effects mentally. Wishing him all the best still, if his knee is alright he'll be back.
 
Yes if we do get Bodde back to full fitness it will be like having a new £10 mill player in our side, fingers crossed that he can overcome the mental barriers that are holding back his progress. Apparently he did have a slight infection of the knee and returned for a consultation in Holland but it is all clear now so it is only his own doubts and fitness levels which are preventing from making a return so maybe he will be included in the 25. Maybe worth us taking the risk as he is head and shoulders above anyone else in his position.
 
if he is a normal person, he, when declared fit will never be the same player again, he will back out of tackles etc etc. he prob will possess the same passing flair etc but will in the back of his mind be thinking of the knee, i wish him well as i have said in previous posts but he will never be the same player he was

If you were talking about a normal person, that may be a fair assessment, but we are talking about the 'Evil Genius'. He is far from normal
 
Just over 50 games in 5 seasons is not good, i dont care how good he was he will never be the same player again and we are just throwing good money after bad. the guy has had it and its time to move on now.....we need a player to play and not spend his time in the treatment room, that does not benefit the club one bit...
 
Your empathetic qualities are almost as redundant as your footballing knowledge, Daiswan. This is not a case of him owing the Swans, or the Swans owing him. It's simply a matter of those in the relevant power making positions observing his prognosis and weighing that up against the future benefit that he may provide the club. If it was felt that a recovery was impossible, I have no doubt that Jenkins and Brendan would cut him loose, law suit pending or otherwise (I'm sure a correctly measured pay off would suffice anyway). Your less than educated opinion is valid, Dai, as are all opinions on this board, but the staunch "cut him no slack" tone to your words is suitably representative of your pessimistically flawed character. I say this wholeheartedly, and with no hint of hyperbole, "shame on you, Daiswan", you're exactly the type of fan that this club does not need this season.

This all just shows how much we still regard Mr Bodde despite him playing us like fools when he was fit and flying. It is SPECULATION and will continue to be SPECULATION until he has played at least 3 full 90 minutes in the Premier League.

Despite me also wamting him back, now lets be honest guys/gals.... who's putting money on that happening this year?

And even if he did, who would fancy him staying with us beyond the end of the year?

Bodde - A very good player at Championship/League 1 level who wanted out as soon as a 'bigger' Championship club came sniffing ....lets not wear rose tinted glasses and concentrate on the boys who are currently busting a gut for the Swans.

Playing us like fools?

He is in the 25 man squad for us, if Brendan thought he wouldn't make it he wouldn't be there at all !

And let's face facts here, Taylor had his head turned, Rangel did a couple of years ago, dorus did a few years ago, Leon left and so did bessone and came back! And trunds was begging everton to take him from us, and he left and came back!

Now bodde is still with us despite everything, and if he does leave us next year it will be because of either injuries or we couldn't tie him down to a longer contract.

Football players don't swear their lives to us, for them it's a job and if better offers come in they will likely go for it!

Don't know the cost of that, but there is no real need to release him as we seem to be in for the long haul, and it's a small gamble in the larger scheme of things to keep him here, I am sure Jenkins and the board know exactly what is at stake, and they have thought out all eventualities in this matter.
 
Jager, I think under the rules he has to be in the 25. If you have eligible players, you have to include them. You can only have less than 25 named if you don't have 25 eligible players. Anyone under 21 doesn't have to be named. Similarly a minimum 8 of the 25 must be 'home grown'. If you only have 7, you can only name 24 in your squad, 6, 23, etc. ( I suppose what I'm saying is only 17 can be non-home grown.)
