Since this is a film thread, I thought I'd ask if anyone has seen this fella before? Film reviews are top notch.

Yes. If you can get past the silly character he's excellent.

Him and Red Letter Media are a cut above the rest. People write all these YouTubers off as ranters, and there's a large element of that for sure, but you have some individuals doing good work.

Tbf he rarely does the drunk bit anymore, that was more his old bit. His open bar live streams are very good. He got a mention on the Joe Rogan podcast by the John Wick director aswell. People know who he is now.

Yep he's doing very well. Most of the people in his orbit are worth watching too, especially in the open bar/Real BBC format. I like The Little Platoon and Call Me Chato as well. Disparu and Az not so much but they're better in a group.

Friday Night Tights is not for the faint hearted, but it's very funny.

I think it's quite divisive, seems you love it or hate it. It's definitely different. All I can say is I really liked it and my wife didn't think she would but was riveted throughout.

What a strange film that was mate, its definitely different. I enjoyed it though, thanks for the recommendation.

Might have to give that one a go over the weekend.

I was talking to my Dad about it about 6 months ago, asked if he watched it, I said "The one with Johnny Depp in it"? Blank look on his face. He didn't realise it was Johnny Depp because of the makeup. lol

I've just edited my post man <laugh>

I mean, where do you start with it? Not with the 'should be white' stuff, that's just racist dog whistling.
How do you put the magic mirror in the position of telling Gal Gadot that she's not the fairest one of all?
How do you do the ending? From Disney's point of view, the handsome Prince can't kiss her, that would be an unwanted sexual advance and also Patriarchy. Can she kiss him? If so, how come that unwanted sexual advance is fine?
How do you justify taking work from little people actors, whose role opportunities are restricted enough, to cast what looks like a cross between Mumford and Sons and The Lumineers?

It's an absolute disaster of their own making.

The little people actors community are pissed right off with Peter Dinklage. He was the one that said it would be wrong about a year ago when they first said the film was being made. Loads on line of actors from that community laying into him saying stuff along the lines of he's made his millions now he's helped close the door on anyone else getting the same opportunities. Keeping the roles for him self so to speak

Yeah it's one that you either get on board with the atmosphere and enjoy it or it doesn't work for you and you think wtf was that. I wouldn't normally recommend it because of the weirdness but glad you enjoyed it.

His previous film Hereditary is a bit more of a traditional horror, didn't like it as much but it's got the best jump scare scene I've ever seen. Nearly **** myself.

I'm guessing little people are now below black people on the 'equality and diversity heirarchy' for some reason.

Dinklage as one of seven dwarves who all had a lot more agency would have been brilliant. But because they can't write characters any more they cast based on identities.

Off the top of my head the last few I rated were Flesh, Midsommar and going back a bit the first Insidious.

That should be Fresh incidentally, I'm sure there are plenty of horrors called Flesh but I haven't seen them.
