Yeah like that would never happen, or that's not real, but they still expect every bloke in the world to be like Christian grey or some other blokes from these romantic/semi-erotic movies they love to watch, and not like the reality of us sitting on the setee with a packet of pickled onion monster munch scratching our balls, picking our feet and shouting at the referee because your team is being robbed in real time on the telly box. <devil><cool><cheers><laugh>

Started watching the new Flash film last night, turned it off after 30 minutes. It’s absolutely ****e and Ezra Miller has managed to create one of the most annoying main characters I’ve ever seen.

I'm quite enjoying the Hollywood implosion.

It feels like most of them were driven irrevocably insane by Trump's election and now they've even managed to turn the normies (ie not geeks like myself) off their products by becoming more and more party political.

The reaction to Barbie is a case in point. They hid the film's agenda throughout the entire marketing campaign, making it look like a fun lightweight film. Imagine the surprise when it turned out to be basically a smash the patriarchy Girlboss propaganda film. Which is a shame because it could have been a decent fun film if it was similar to, say, Elf, where Barbie struggles to adapt to the real world.

But the best bit? Everyone loves Ken, so it's being humourously interpreted as 'made movie about how bad men are and accidentally restored The Patriarchy' :1980_boogie_down:

It's just great fun watching these people fail because of their arrogance, tanking their companies by producing stuff nobody is watching and then going on strike for more money.

They wanted Culture War bullshit in their films, they got it. And people who just want good entertainment went elsewhere.

Don't get me started on Snow White ;)

I've just edited my post man <laugh>

I mean, where do you start with it? Not with the 'should be white' stuff, that's just racist dog whistling.
How do you put the magic mirror in the position of telling Gal Gadot that she's not the fairest one of all?
How do you do the ending? From Disney's point of view, the handsome Prince can't kiss her, that would be an unwanted sexual advance and also Patriarchy. Can she kiss him? If so, how come that unwanted sexual advance is fine?
How do you justify taking work from little people actors, whose role opportunities are restricted enough, to cast what looks like a cross between Mumford and Sons and The Lumineers?

It's an absolute disaster of their own making.

Great film. The film more close to what happened in real life is "Black Mass".

Off the top of my head the last few I rated were Flesh, Midsommar and going back a bit the first Insidious.

Since this is a film thread, I thought I'd ask if anyone has seen this fella before? Film reviews are top notch.

I think it's quite divisive, seems you love it or hate it. It's definitely different. All I can say is I really liked it and my wife didn't think she would but was riveted throughout.

Drinkers class. He's writes novels and is a film critic. He started a YouTube channel doing honest reviews a few years ago. One nothing too special. One night he had watched something, can't remember what but it was at the start of all the agendas that were getting pushed. he had had a few drinks one night and was slightly drunk, he made a review while genuinely drunk, slightly slurring his speech, more of a rant than a review on how he was fed up of all the politics, man hatred and all the other stuff that's rife now in Hollywood. He posted the video and went to bed. Next morning his channel had exploded. He's worth a watch because 9 times out of 10 he's spot on with his reviews. He has also interviewed a couple of A listers and recently was a guest on Russle Brands show.
