State of those Oscar nominations man. I know we'd like them to move away from Oscar bait, but a Top Gun sequel and a Marvel film?

Finished watching this tonight.

Not one I'd recommend to one and all because it's very unusual but it is an excellent film. Totally unpredictable and gripping from the first minute to the last.

Funnily enough it stars two of the lead actors from Banshees that we've been talking about, despite not having anything to do with it that I know of. Barry Keoghan is riveting again:

Watched the Guard. That Gleason bloke from Banshees is in it.
Gave me a good few hearty chuckles. Nearly switched it off a couple of times as I just couldn't handle some of the funny outrageous moments.

Favourites are Schindlers List, Braveheart, Gladiator, Apollo 13, Shawshank Redemption, Good the Bad and The Ugly, Papillon, Godfather 2, In The Name of the Father, and ...The Goonies.
Edited to add Dances With Wolves and Life of Brian.
When I first watched Avatar I thought that someone had just watched this film and adjusted it to be a scientist fiction movie.

Class mate there has been a few discussions about this and In Bruge for me The Guard is the best of the lot. So funny and such a clever dry humour!

Calvary is worth a watch if you are liking Brendon Gleeson and haven't seen it, I'm assuming you have seen him in In Bruge?

Everything Everywhere All At Once. Canny. Like a Multiverse Matrix. A few jarring shifts in tone, but you can see why it's up for awards.

Deadpool said that start of "Papa can you hear me" and "do you want to build and snowman" sound the same, one day I will find Ryan Reynolds and tell him I've found a 3rd song that sounds the same.

I think Men of Honour is a great movie as is Amistad really liked goodfellas and still think Aliens is a fantastic movie along with the Abyss. A special mention also to remember the Titans and man on fire
