I was just thinking about saying a similar thing about Aurier. That Chelsea game was probably his best in a Spurs shirt yet. The balls into the box. The way he let Hazard, and everyone else who entered his territory, know he wasn't going to have a happy time of it, the tackle. <laugh>

Great stuff from him. Long may it continue.

You ain’t the only one. Maybe Poch’s record with FBs will indeed remain intact?

Maybe. Aurier is only, 25 after all, maybe I owed him more patience. Though I would like to see KWP get more game time too, I think he's a gem.

Aurier has certainly improved and had a good game on Saturday, but amongst all the good stuff - including the tackle that led to Sonny’s goal - he (or Foyth, or both) also was at fault for Girouds goal. Completely lost him at the back stick with no one else to mark.

He looks a positive, fun character on and off the pitch and I’m glad we got him <ok>

PS - he’s also great mates with Sissoko, so no doubt having the new improved Moussa giving him protection is bound to have helped him.

They played together at Toulouse (albeit briefly, as Sissoko joined Newcastle six months after Aurier signed) so while we were all talking up his bromance with Lucas at PSG we overlooked the one he had with Sissoko

Janssen is not a versatile as Moose. It would have been difficult to play him in 20 matches .a season.
Notwithstanding the above, he was given the option to go on loan to Brighton but turned it down, so he burnt his own bridges really.

Have to agree with this.

It’s not always about the manager or the club, sometimes it’s the player. Maybe he’s agitating to play more, refusing loans as has been said, there’s many reasons a player doesn’t work out. Not all of them are down to the club’s stance.

Resurrecting Spurlocks thread...
Great interview with the Big Man today on Sky:

His transformation has been dramatic and reflects the faith that Poch had in him throughout. But it also needed the player to have the right attitude and belief to combat the disappointments - and abuse from some quarters - and fight back to be, for me, our POTS (so far).
Heaven knows how this season would have mapped out without him on this form, but I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be a happy bunch on here....

Well played, lad - and long may it continue! <applause>

Yeah he’s definitely front runner for me as POTY.

Son was running him close but the one thing with Son is that his form does go patchy. He can be unplayable for a couple months but then borderline non-existent.

Jan, Kane and Eriksen I think will also be in the running (though Eriksen’s form the last month or so has pushed him right down).

Mad to think that when Spurs ask us to vote, I’m actually gonna click “Moussa Sissoko”... If someone said that to me at the start of the season I’d be asking who their supplier was because it’s definitely better **** than what I get on some weekends.
