The rumours just won't die down....looks like United are prepapred to leverage their relative financial muscle.

I personally cannot bear to see him in a United shirt - RVP was bad but if Fabregas joined United aswell then we will well and truly be the laughing stock of this league.

Unless Bergkamp regenerated and signed for spurs, this would be the single worst transfer I can think of

I don't see why people think it's so unlikely. Barca need funds after the massive amount they payed for Neymar, including his huge wages. If the right offer came in I can absolutely see them selling. The player might not be desperate to leave but I think the whole loyalty to Arsenal thing would disappear pretty quickly if he was told he was surplus to requirements

I reckon they got more chance of signing Messi.

Even without our first option to buy him there isn't a single good reason for Barcelona to sell him or for him to want to leave. He is playing more than anyone else in the squad and he is at the club he loves. If Barcelona sell him, he will want to be with his family in London.

Moyes showing he has brain damage here. Unless he offers about 50-80M this one isn't going to happen, and even then, Arsenal have to pass on him. Fabregas to Arsenal makes far more sense, because of the family angle, but I don't think that is going to happen either.

Clubs are throwing bids out to test the waters, no one is dead set on a transfer or going to push for anything right now. It is still very, very, early in the transfer window, not all the players are back yet and some clubs haven't even decided what formation they are going to play, or which young players might make it in the squad (as a backup) yet.

Papers reading too much into these exploratory enquiries, and/or bids.

Good reasons to sell.....

they use him out of position thus not getting the best out of him
they need the money
he isnt overly popular with the fans or the club itself
He doesnt quite fit in with their style, some even go as far as to call him a hoofball specialist.

Some pretty good reasons there tbh <ok>

People are forgetting that we have first refusal anyway. So if Barca don't want him, then it's up to us to decide whether to take him back or cash in on his transfer. Utd are second best in any scenario concerning Fabregas

You dont.

He played 25 times as MC and only 13 times at FW (when they had a problem). Ignorance and stupidity the only reason for people saying this.

they need the money

Yes they do, but the most they can get for him is 25M. If United offer more, even if Arsenal don't want him, they will buy him for 25M and sell him on to United for more. (That is if you believe that Arsenal only get 50% of the profit, not the fee)

he isnt overly popular with the fans or the club itself

I think this is a myth. The guy played more games than any other Barcelona player and they won the league. There may be a few vocal fans, but they don't hate him as much as Song for example.

He doesnt quite fit in with their style, some even go as far as to call him a hoofball specialist.

Yeah, we have a few fans who say Ramsey cant complete a pass as well, doesn't make it true. His pass completion rate is way up there, and so is his key passes stat. Most Barcelona fans and their management just are not that stupid. I think you will see a far louder protest if they sell him.

Your only chance of getting him is if a number of things align.

1. Barcelona are so cash strapped that they have to start selling vital members of their team for 25M, 10M less than they paid for them. The president is going to look like a clown.
2. Fabregas wants to be in England to be with his Family.
3. He persuades his wife and kids that Manchester is a better place to live than London. (so they sell the house in London they already own)
4. Arsenal don't want him.
5. He was lying all those times he said Arsenal and Barcelona were the only two clubs he would play for.
6. He wasn't just being polite when he said a nice thing about United all those years ago.
7. That he doesn't still hate United like he did when he threw your shirt away.
8. That he stopped regarding Wenger with respect as a father figure.
9. The rumours about him being in very close contact with Wenger over the last few weeks are untrue, and he isn't considering a move to Arsenal.

Yeah we do. Its our transfer don't try to act like you know more about thay deal than we do.

Not pretending anything. You dont have a first refusal clause and nor do you have a 50% of the sale clause.

I mean do you think Barcelona are ****ing stupid?

Ive seen a few papers say you do and some Arsenal fans say the same. based on an article in the mirror.

I dont know what deals in place if any but the chance of Barcelona, who at the time were the best club on earth accepting such a clause strikes me as erm......... yeh, its not there.

I would think Barcelona know as much about i as well and seems they dont think theres such a clause either, well the general consensus is that theres no first refusal clause but that you may get some of the profit.

Plus lets not forget that IF and its one hell of an IF, you do have such a clause, it only counts if Fab wants to go to Arsenal. Cym has stated that when he left it wasnt on the best of terms and that Fabregas acted quite the ****.

So you're basing your idiotic daft statement because you can read Barca's mind
**** off you idiot

You are beginning to act like a bit of a noob about all of this UIR. It was widely reported that we have first refusal and 50% of any sell on fee, so what info do you have that proves otherwise ?

not sure anyone has actually seen his contract, so i doubt anyone has any idea. has either Barca or Arsenal ever stated publically that such a clause exists or is it mere media speculation?

No i'm basing it on common sense and a fairly unanimous view from Barcelona fans as well as a number of Arsenal shareholders.

What are you basing it on? The Mirror? cool <ok>

Which Arsenal shareholders are they then ? and basing it on a 'fairly unanimous view from Barca fans' ?

If I didn't know better I'd say you're deliberately WUMMING
