If Leicester were any good, they would have had the ball and the penalty would not have happened.

I'm trying to be objective here, I've looked at it several times now, and I still can't determine the player's intent. I guess only he knows what was in his head.
I can honestly see why it was given though. One of those that can go either way depending on the ref.
... at last some sense ... but think about the intent like this ... seconds to go ... no 'immediate' danger (i.e players are more or less level tussling for the ball - Dyer is very quick and would think he could get a block in if Rose looks to cross or shoot) ... why on earth would he deliberately handball it?
I don't think player's necessarily think like that. It's like committing a crime, if you knew you were going to get caught and punished, you wouldn't do it. But, just like Dyer, if you think there's a reasonable chance you will get away with it, you go ahead and do it.
I suppose, in short, IF that was his intent, he hoped the ref wouldn't spot it.
... there is merit in your logic but ... he had no time to think about doing it and getting away with it - he merely spins when Rose dinks it outside ... this is the point where we will agree to disagree ... I don't think he has any idea where the ball is, his only intent is to stop Rose going past him ... as he spins to do that the ball inadvertently (and unfortuneately for us) hits his hand ...
That video was so clearly wrong that the user took it down!Watch this video from 3:48 of the penalty incident. You can clearly see that Dyer was turning around using his arms for balance and the natural force of his arm caught the ball. There was no intent, his arm was in a natural position and it didn't move towards the ball in a manner to deliberately handball it. It's simply an accidental handball caused by the direction of his motion.
Wrong decision and the Spuds were let off the hook.

What does the speed of the game have to do with anything? He's clearly looking at the ball. Did the speed make it invisible?yes - 'clearly' the game was played in slow motion stills

... all the 'experts' including Kevin Kilbane - who you were very quick to quote when he initially thought it was a pen - conceded that, on seeing it played back, it was obvious that Dyer had no idea where the ball was ... ergo he couldn't possibly have intended to handle it ... so no penalty ... but keep at it
.... never really understood the term 'delusional spuds' until now ...
.. gonna get awfully cold in that shadow ... something tells me that you are going to be there for a very long time ... although you'll no doubt convince yourselves that it's just a passing cloud rather than a total eclipse...

He sees where the ball is, flicks out his arm at it and pushes it away.
All of your tears won't wash that away, I'm afraid.
... you are 'clearly' the dumbest poster I've come across on these boards - congratulations - no question of your being overshadowed on that front at least
..
If you're going to accuse somebody of being stupid, then you might not want to post like a twelve-year-old girl on Twitter... nothing at all... that's why no player in the history of football has ever been hit by the ball when not expecting it... you are 'clearly' the dumbest poster I've come across on these boards - congratulations - no question of your being overshadowed on that front at least
In terms of disproving your laest masterpiece - for many years Littlewoods ran a 'Spot The Ball' coupon which was a bugger to try and win ... because no matter where you thought the players were looking ... the ball was inevitably travelling faster than the players eyes could follow or at least focus on ... in simple terms - and as your nemesis for the last couple of decades would say "I did not see it..."
... Dyer's eyes being aligned with where the ball is in a single frame photo from a high-speed shuttered camera proves nothing other than that you are 'clearly' a simpleton if you really believe it proves he had all the time in the world to decide "hmmm punching that ball seems a good idea"..
Keep'em coming Sheldon!![]()

Random, rambling gibberish with no sentence structure and endless smileys? ****ing genius!
By your dopey standards, nobody's ever committed a handball, as it's a bad idea. What a stupid claim.
He thought Rose was going to go past him again, as he had all day long, so he made a poor decision in an instant and it cost you.
Get over it.
... and there was me thinking he merely spun round to try and get a block in on any shot or cross that Rose might be going to attempt ...
Where's the devious plan in a man making a poor reaction in an instant?... blimey ...Nathan Dyer has now turned into Professor Moriarty with a cunningly devious plan... and there was me thinking he merely spun round to try and get a block in on any shot or cross that Rose might be going to attempt ...
... why is it then Sherlock, that your view only seems to be held by a scant (no pun intented) minority ...composed almost entirely of Spurs fans?
... save me ... I'm in a battle of wits with a man (benefit given) who's unarmed![]()
Where's the devious plan in a man making a poor reaction in an instant?
That might sound like planning to you, as you're a little deficient, but it doesn't to the rest of us.
Appealing to a bunch of people's opinions doesn't make you right. The facts make me right.
Lots of people thought that Leicester were going to get relegated this season. That didn't make it happen, did it?
They'll all have to wait until next season, instead.
I'm glad that you've seen the light. Good luck in the Championship against Fulham.OK then, you've been right all along, I'll leave it there ... good luck in the Champions League against Fiorentina ...
I'm glad that you've seen the light. Good luck in the Championship against Fulham.

It's premature to wish you luck for something in the future? That explains your "instant is a long time to plan" thinking earlier.... just knew you you'd be premature ... priceless![]()
..no hard feelings Polly, put the kettle on .. speak later ..got some stuff to do first ..It's premature to wish you luck for something in the future? That explains your "instant is a long time to plan" thinking earlier.
Quite amusing to watch you trying to mock a team for playing someone in Europe, though.
We had to win some games to get there. You know, that thing that you've never, ever done in any European competition.
