We’ve come a long way under Arteta already. A year ago, we go 1-0 down to Chelsea and we fold like a sack of ****. Now though Arteta has got this team believing and he’s given them a backbone.

funny seeing auba drop that trophy though <laugh>

Losing to us after going 1 up, losing to Villa without a shot on target and the last 50 minutes against Watford suggests that you are still seriously inconsistent but winning a trophy could help cure it...unfortunately!

If you were born the day after the Fairs Trophy final I'm afraid I'm going to have to demand you take your own life for the good of NUFC. Jinx-face.
I like being the underdog. If the saudis had bought us world domination would have been boring as ****. <party>

As a Gooner I have to be honest and say we've been **** more than we've been good this season. Our league position was way below par by our standards and losing to you ****s was symptomatic of where we are at atm, inconsistent and unpredictable. Arteta coming in has definitely switched the club in the right direction though, but it's going to take time. He inherited a squad at rock bottom after Emery, so to get us fighting and winning a pot in 8 months is a decent start by anybody's measure.

51 years since a trophy and I'm only 38.

1996: 2nd in league
1997: 2nd in league
1998: FA Cup runners up
1999: FA Cup runners up

You've had it good mate.

I know mate... in my 53 years we have won...
2 Uefa Cups
4 fa cups
4 league cup

Only Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, City and United have won more than 10 trophies in that time I think.

Have spent all but 1 season in the top division as well. Only Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool have bettered that (United matched it).

Was '78 your promotion?

Section of Brighton fans still bitter now about us playing out a 0-0 on the final day lol.

A trophy is a trophy and better than a top 4 finish.
The top 4 bollocks (which Wenger called a trophy) has killed both the FA Cup and League Cups and the UEFA/Cup Winners Cup...fans of most clubs refer to them as mickey mouse cups.
I loved the season we won the league Cup but unfortunately it didn't stop Keane and Berbatov leaving.
Could be the same for yous with Aubameyang...not saying it will but could be!
Enjoy your night mate!

I reckon Auba is gonna stay.

You ****s can dig me out on that he leaves, thems the rules.

But I think winning that pot is going to convince him that Arteta and this team can do something next season.

Yeah...was 11 years old listening to updates on the radio.
Think you hit the post inside the first minute.
Went up on goal difference...the 9 nil win we had over Bristol Rovers in the October (when I was 10) was the difference. A certain Colin Lee scored 4 of the goals on his debut.

Our history would have been very very different had we lost that match...cos we went up we were able to sign Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa plus keep hold of Hoddle and Perryman...none of which would have happened if we hadn't gone up imho.

The transfers will decide that more than the trophy imo.
Obviously hope he goes but you must keep him if you are to move forward
