I've only ever watched the F1 on tv, I really need/want to go and watch a live race one day. The prices is ridiculously expensive though.
Its worth it, especially as you're an engineer. Get saving.

I was very fortunate in a job I had over 20 years ago where my employers loaned out two-way radios for events such as the British GP, Wimbledon, the Open etc and I was given a pass (including a space for my tent on the officials' campsite) for Saturday and Sunday over 20 years ago and loved being that close to the action.
My most vivid memory of my time there was delivering radios to a catering firm that was at Henley and was going on to the Open the following week. There I was wondering around Henley in jeans, t-shirt and trainers where everyone else was immaculately dressed!!!!![]()
I'm not an engineer, but I'm sure it's worth it. I know you said you don't like Silverstone, but I've been there and raced a super car around the circuit a couple of times, I would love to go and see the F1 there as even with super cars, the noise and seeing them racing around the track was great. Its worth it, especially as you're an engineer. I believe that was Bath-Canary who said it, I can only wish I had a skill like that.Sorry, thought you said you'd done a Engineering degree?

First time I drove the Aston Martin V8 Vantage then second time it was the Ferrari F430 Coupe. What car did you drive? Silverstone had an open day yesterday and I was thinking of going down (it's a 20 minute drive for me) and banging an Aston Martin around the track, unfortunately I got caught up in the T20 India v Australia and never made it, will definitely do one of their Ferrari Experience days at some time, smashing one of those down the Hangar Straight at 150mph would be awesome.
Wow only ever "looked" at the Vantage! Respect.First time I drove the Aston Martin V8 Vantage then second time it was the Ferrari F430 Coupe.
ILD - I've just seen this, so could be more exciting racing from next season - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/36099501
