Is this the end?

Everyone's about 10 seconds apart, no close racing on show, and now the cars sound utter **** and soulless.

Ruined.

Last season was ****e anarl, not a great deal of proper racing, more often than not Vettel just went a million miles in front and the rest were 10 seconds apart. The cars were still ugly, but at least they had character in the engine bay.

Now it's just a nothing sport.

They should just be let off the reins and allowed to do whatever the bloody hell they like, this is the pinnacle of racing and human technology after all, why keep it held back on a leash?

I was into it when I was a teenager, but its gone to much towards tactics and car performance. It's not about the drivers ability anymore.

Sterile and safe . . it is what set F1 drivers apart , that they were crazy daredevils .
Today they are more like heat control managers lol

I've always said that I would love to see what the teams could come up with if they were just told "right, no restrictions. Just make the cars go as fast as you can". I bet they'd be 30 secs faster a lap, it would be amazing to watch, but it would never happen.

What happened to that ****e A1 League of Nations racing malarkey?

Isn't that how it used to be in the 60s and 70s? Unfortunately it made it so dangerous that drivers were dying every year.

i think the FAstest lap was some Four seconds slower than last year . . Last years fastest lap was some 4 seconds slower than Alonso in 2005 .!! so we are talking nearly 10 seconds difference - dont think there has been any changes to the circuit in that time either .

Sadly to make it a spectator event we demand drivers push to the limit and that puts their lives at risk , its the nature of the beast and why F1 drivers are far less coveted than they once was.

I know it's only a computer game, but Adrian Newey has designed cars for the Gran Turismo series pretty much on that basis.

A1 I think went bust after pretty much all it produced was Hulkenburg and some cars for failed F1 drivers to race in. Given all the cash came from Sky and they've gone and bought the F1 it almost certainly will if it hasn't already. There is of course the new electric series coming out soon...

The drivers have become a caricature of the sport. So monotonous and boring. Hamilton goes out with a bloody pussycat doll and he still looks dead behind the eyes.

Not into F1 at all.

There was this lad at my school/college (Jezza will know who i'm on about) who was a massive fan. Was a bit of a weirdo.
