Cameron - Clegg... Conservative ousted Labour with a much smaller margin than today's result.

Cameron unexpectedly won it outright last time, it was a shock, in hindsight it was voters going to SNP and UKIP that did it and the promise of a referendum.

You have to believe that the previous election was a blip, that we are probably in for years of hung outcomes. 47% to 40% is still massive so if May goes it can only be for the bad call in going to the polls.

No doubt about it, she fought a horrific campaign and Corbyn gave it everything. With remoaners protesting, 72% turnout of 18 to 25 year olds being promised free tuition this is the best it is ever going to get for Corbyn.

The only good thing to come from last nights result is the kick in the teeth delivered to Sturgeon.

When brexit kicks in and the job losses and inflation result whoever is in power wont be re-elected for three terms... A good election to lose, and perhaps thats why the tory party machine let May hang herself out to dry with her vote for me campaign.

Sturgeon still has a majority in scotland. May would kill for that in england and wales.

agree with all of this and Sturgeon was a bigger shock to me as i only thought she would lose just three or four .

And Corbyn would kill for that 47% to 40% margin too.

As for "what will happen" when Brexit kicks in, I'm not going to get into that one as it's all "opinion" nobody knows. I truly believe in 10 years time this country would be better than it will be should we remain.

That's as long as Corbyn isn't in and we haven't all been murdered by terrorists.

Sturgeon is yet to speak on the results.be interesting to see how she tries to turn it in her favour.her arrogance knows no bounds.but the results speak volumes .

Sorry you cant use that argument as a brexiteer.

80%+ of our exports are to the EU and we export more just to ireland than we do to potential new markets in india, australia and New Zealand combined.

Surely you can now start to comprehend why access to the single market is vital to our interests.
You are right. Brexit will have a far far greater impact, good or bad, in the UK than to any other country. Anyone thinking the economy here is based purely on truckloads crossing the Irish sea into Britain are mistaken

I have every right to comment. I went out and said none of the above. I stand by that.
The election was called for one reason to give Mrs weakandunstable a mandate for a hard Brexit. Well she has no mandate at all.

She has to go, and whoever takes over now has to deliver a brexit that keeps the customs union and access to the single market. The price we pay for that will be paid by all of us but was caused by the racist right wing ****s like you that couldnt see whats really going on.

My faith in the british has been restored.

Prediction. Brexit will still be a costly disaster and the tories will lose the next election by a landslide as a result... Good news indeed. I actually think they tried to lose this election so they could blame labour for whats coming.
I am pleased with the Conservative victory. We will now see how they handle the self inflicted problems of Brexit, the NHS, Education, and the Energy industry.

For those of you worrying about chesh's wellbeing after his posts last night promising a Tory landslide I have done my bit.

Sent him a text early this morning congratulating him on Crewe kicking out the Tory and electing a Labour mp.

A sad Day for Britain, the terrorists have won. Will lead to millions of Muslims coming in and many thousands of terrorists IMO,the way they breed there will be a day when Islamists outnumber the rest and future generations will have there heads cut off in Harrogare square, well done. But even worse than that the Jocks have switched back to there tax sucking leaches and refused to fook off.Only hope is change the manifestos, more police,no tax rises,no fox hunting and the 4 extra days holiday then call another election.
