Northampton has remained blue 7/7 my area Northampton North by just 800 seats Ellis in with 19,000 votes
It means an end to a hard brexit. Its not as good as staying in but we are far better keeping workers rights, custom union and access to the single market. The tories now will be judged on how they deliver it.
So Corbyn calls for May to resign but she still got how many more votes than him? 47% to 40% Both should go in that case, someone needs to point out to Jeremy he still lost... Chippy so we're assuming this was a protest vote by remoaners? Poll count was up, Labour won this with the young vote and winning more of the UKIP share, personally I see a hung parliament as a disaster all round.
I am presuming that when our prime minister (who had a majority and had no reason to call an election) said i want a mandate for Brexit people took her at her word and voted accordingly. I think this was about stopping hard brexit in england and wales, about stopping indy ref2 in scotland and as usual about religion and bigotry in Norn. Only one question, having failed to win the voteshe called has she resigned yet? or will they have to oust her?
no need to apolagise as i have met you and are easy to get on with.i will set out my views below. i am against mass immigration i feel it drives wages down .i have first hand knowledge of this due to working with different companies on a regular basis.i talk to the regular workers born in this country and they are fed up with it too. the use of zero hours contracts is just an excuse for the rich to get richer and as an example i give you Superdrug.profits rose from about 35 million to over 60 million all by using cheap foreign labour. They are chinese owned. i talk to all who i see around work and social wise.no matter if they are black .white green or blue or red and that's just their hair colour. i am against big companies using this country to make huge profits and paying little in tax. i am against our laws being decided by the E.U.it has led to the situation we are in strangling the ability to deal with the isis nut cases. fix these things and give us a better country sensibly run and it would be a start. as for me i will continue to get my bits from the local polish shop it's not the cheapest but is handy . i will continue to order a chinese when i feel like it and asian take away food as often as i like.abdul from ossett has nothing to fear from me. i want to see the muslims of great britain stand up against the isis murderers. i want great britain put first just as Merkel is putting Germany first.they are trying to rule Europe once more. the E.U to me is broken and needs reform .if this was done and a fairer deal for all was given then i would be happy to accept remaining in the customs union. what deal we will end up with no one knows but someone has to get on with it.yes i put my country first and i make no apoligies for this. most of all i want the government of this country to stop putting the people born here last. as for the election result i do not give a dam.what will happen next will be interesting.
If I may offer a football analogy; in football, if you have possession, you hang on to it. You don't dribble it up to your opponent and give him a free kick. Perhaps your Ms May should have played footy.
I think she will go for making what will now be seen as a bad call but... Why should she go and why should Corbyn stay, Conservatives will have more votes than when Cameron formed a government with Lib/Dems. Corbyn gained a little respect from me this campaign but strutting around like he has won brings back those memories of how he ignored advice to step down, he has still proved to everyone he is non electable. Robert Peston Peston I think there's good chance @theresa_may will not stand down. Ministers urging her not to, citing her 43% share of vote, up from Cam's 36% 5:51 a.m. - 9 June 2017
She is toast. The only thing that might delay it is brexit talks start on 19th. The people had no idea who she was when she took over and didnt like her when she lead the campaign and they saw how she operates. She appears to have no political principles apart from self advancement and is just sn oportunist. Throwing the disgusting Amber Rudd onto the tv debate showed that even she knows she isnt the best person to present sn argument. As an anti tory i hope she stays but it wont happen.
I have now heard what Corbyn said and you are misquoting or misunderstanding. He is calling for her to go and be replaced by someone who can govern with consensus for all of us. He isnt saying he should form the next government. Given that the country and all its constituent bits is divided from top to bottom on all the big issues its pretty hard to find a reason to disagree isnt it?
So your Tory leaders arrogance finally caught up with her. Said pre election if she lost six seats it would be a disaster ha. Refused to debate publicly, either unable or felt they'd have a landslide win or both so didn't need to. The hard Brexit looks some joke this morning. More likely off to Europe next week with cap in hand
remains to be seen but it will be interesting especially four your country bud.you export a lot to us so lets see if the E.U will look after you and try and do a deal .
Our economy is based far more on financial, technology and pharmaceutical sectors. Prob 90% of jobs created in last five years are in that area along with a now booming construction sector trying to keep pace building office space etc. we may lose a bit in exports but already more than making it up elsewhere
Cameron - Clegg... Conservative ousted Labour with a much smaller margin than today's result. Cameron unexpectedly won it outright last time, it was a shock, in hindsight it was voters going to SNP and UKIP that did it and the promise of a referendum. You have to believe that the previous election was a blip, that we are probably in for years of hung outcomes. 47% to 40% is still massive so if May goes it can only be for the bad call in going to the polls. No doubt about it, she fought a horrific campaign and Corbyn gave it everything. With remoaners protesting, 72% turnout of 18 to 25 year olds being promised free tuition this is the best it is ever going to get for Corbyn. The only good thing to come from last nights result is the kick in the teeth delivered to Sturgeon.
Sorry you cant use that argument as a brexiteer. 80%+ of our exports are to the EU and we export more just to ireland than we do to potential new markets in india, australia and New Zealand combined. Surely you can now start to comprehend why access to the single market is vital to our interests.
