Whose consensus?

I don't post on this forum as much as I used to because of the cliques that have developed, To issue a ban for a bit of banter confirms my judgement to stay well clear.

There was one inappropriate comment made during the discourse and it wasn't made by the person who finds themselves banned. The main participants have acted extremely childishly, but for a moderator to intervene and ban someone is tantamount to censorship.

Close the thread by all means but a ban is out of order.

He's been getting on Sunderland posters tits for months. I gave him fair warning. He told me to **** off. Then two posters encouraged the ban, one of whom is also a mod.

If you don't like the forum. That's a shame. I will always do what I can to make this forum more enjoyable for mackem posters. If that means being harsh/censoring a mag wum... so be it.

If people don't like my approach. By all means suggest I stop being a mod. I apologise for my actions which had the boards best interest at heart.

I thought it was evident what I meant but to clarify, I believe this is an open forum, I don't believe that contributors should receive bans because they say something that a moderator disagrees with.

Bans should be issued because of inappropriate comments ie homophobic, racist, threatening or abusive and they (bans) should be reasonable and proportionate.

Well I for hope you stick around mate. Tony has said he's sweet, I can't speak for Com, he's a sound poster but when he's irritable he'll call people out, don't think he holds grudges, it's just a part of his personality we have to accept, like yours, like mine like everybody's.

Truth is, Smug doesn't bother me at all, i don't want to see him leave, i don't want to see anyone leave. I know myself that i wind people up at times, but there is nothing personal in it.

Just seems this thread went a bit haywire over nothing really, some of the best posters on this board having a tiff, and nothing more.

I'm far from perfect but I fight my own battles and don't go crying to the mods over things like this.

However, I'll clarify the situation so I can go in peace.

Various people like Cyprus, Nostalgic, Stu, Stag stalk me around the boards. They don't even have the courage to admit it and probably even deny it to themselves.
It goes unnoticed by many of you because you're not the one involved.
Why deny it lads, you know you're doing it so just admit it.

I posted this thread with the sole intention of helping the many Sunderland posters who've contacted me, desperate to see their team play at Wembley.
Yet the thread didn't get to the bottom of the first page before Cyprus started his attack.
Other people like Stag and Nostalgic joined forces, as they often do, to continue the attacks, the insults and the harassment.

Despite respected posters, and a mod, confirming that what I've been saying about my location/situation/tickets that doesn't make any difference to the likes of Cyprus.
Other people have mentioned boxes/gold seats/whatever including Mr Raw or that they're flying in for the final. How come they're not attacked?

Four days after I started a thread, to help fellow Sunderland supporters, I'm still being insulted and ridiculed.
I've never before used language as I have on this thread but Cyprus is being a ****.
No apologies, the man is disrupting a thread about getting people into Wembley to continue his own bitter vendetta.

Unlike himself there are Sunderland supporters who actually go to see their team and will do absolutely anything to get into Wembley.
Yet these people see no problem in deliberately disrupting a thread that might actually help.

It's significant that none of those who are attacking me are making any attempt to go to the final isn't it?
They probably can't stand it that other people are excited about Wembley while they'll be sitting at home.

Whatever the case, this can't go on. If posting a harmless thread, like this, ends up with people at each others throats and being banned then it's time to remove the catalyst.
I'll really miss posting on here, there's some really decent people, but it's obvious these stalkers will just continue to hound me.

As I've said, I can handle meself, but the board is suffering and that's not right.

This should be a time of joy and celebration shouldn't it?

So I'm asking Cyprus and his little pals to end this now and just let everyone get on with enjoying the board and Sunderland's Wembley appearance.
