The club can confirm that the group which will acquire a majority shareholding in Leeds United later this month includes lifelong Leeds United fan, and current managing director of the club’s main sponsor, Enterprise Insurance, Andrew Flowers.
Sport Capital, a consortium involving current Leeds United managing director David Haigh, Mr Flowers, and others, are close to completing a transaction that will see them acquire a minimum 75% stakeholding in the club.
Andrew Flowers said: “I’m delighted to confirm that I am part of the consortium that will be acquiring the major shareholding in the club. As a lifelong Leeds United fan and as a buisinessman, I can assure other fans, that while the process is being finalised, we have been working hard to ensure that our due diligence was completed as quickly as possible and that there are funds in place ahead of completion to support the manager during the opening weeks of the January transfer window.”
Sport Capital have been funding the club during the transactional period and will continue to do so ahead of completion.
David Haigh said: “Completion is something we have been working very hard to achieve. We’re now past the holiday periods of Christmas and New Year and we’re looking forward to completing shortly. We are working closely with the Football League regarding the necessary documentation, and we will do our best to keep fans fully informed.
“In the meantime, as Andrew has said, we have ensured that there are funds in place for the January transfer window and we are working closely with Brian McDermott regarding his plans. Hopefully, we will all see some of this work come to fruition in the coming days.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the fans for their continued support.”

There you have it, were rich

This documentation thing still narks me. You'd think they'd know what's required to get it done efficiently. I say sack the lawyers & don't pay them a penny! Any one of us would get sacked if we handled our jobs with such ineptitude.

Employ the Charlton lawyers!

One item that puzzles me is Flowers saying they're still working on due diligence. Would have thought Haigh would have all that info. One positive thing I see is with flowers being a lifelong supporter and having already put money in, he must have a better understanding than most what is required

More cheap talk <yikes> if funds are in place why isnt McDonut using it <doh> He had 4 targets a weeks gone by so where are they ?

<laugh> Load of o baloney

Not a single new word in this. These ****s are taking us for idiots. The exact same announcement was made in December with the extra bit that it would be sorted. BY January. They will spend £500,000 to show good will.
Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Just saying the same to a mate of mine, Due Diligence wasn't done that long ago and Haigh was involved back then.

I think we just need to sit back and see who the manager gets in, if they are freebies and generally poor quality players I guess we can ask was the manager backed financially or were they his preferred choices. Once again a waiting game..

The statement that they're working on Due Diligence directly conflicts with Haigh's comment on the takeover before Xmas - he said that everything was done & they were only waiting on the Football League. Last I heard, they had nowt to do with Due Diligence (although by the looks of it, our lawyers probably need all the help they can get!).

They're spinning that much that they're suffering from dizziness! <steam>

We just need your mate to come along and say he has organised the thing and we can file it as more bollocks.

I have my own business and always have had i know how many things work. but mainly its because iv learnt a lot of lessons in my time the hard way..
But to be honest you dont have to be a genius to see whats going on <ok>

The Haigh-led takeover is due to be officially completed before the turn of the year – prior to the start of the January transfer window – and Football League approval is understood to be the only remaining obstacle to a second change of ownership at Elland Road in the space of 12 months.

GFH Capital accepted an offer from Haigh’s consortium prior to United’s 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers last month, issuing a statement which read: “GFH Capital have granted a period of exclusivity to the investors in readiness for the January transfer window.

“The two parties have signed a share acquisition agreement for the purchase of shares in the club with GFH retaining a significant stake.

“The consortium includes a number of high-profile businessmen and does not include any previous owners or players of the club.
Can't find the previous news on the O/S but found this http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...eam-will-control-75-of-leeds-united-1-6306172

I know. But to watch this fat Tory boy come in and play us for bigger fools than Bates ever did is almost unbelievable. At least Bates didn't claim to be a man of the people. If this to is a damp squib he is gonna a police escort after over hyping so much.

This Cnut has managed to rile me more than Bates, we all knew what Bates was. I will look stupid if the cash flows but I am now not believing it will happen via Haigh.

Now I'm worried. We're eerily similar. I'm thirty years in business and you tend to be able to spot bullshit most of the time. Of course Haigh doesn't call it bullshit, they call it spin

Bates had GFH sign a confidentiality pact and i wouldnt mind betting this is the forefront of the problem, along with ER and TA people are asking them to supply information they just dare not give. I think in all honesty there needs to be a massive investigation into exactly what the **** has been going on <ok>

Because i cant see this ever going away Bates still has a hold somehow <yikes>

Haigh always uses the word 'hopefully' as a kind of get out clause. He never promises anything. He might as well say " hopefully we'll be signing Messi and Aguero ". In fact he can say whatever he likes with 'hopefully' added in, it changes the whole statement.

More spin with no substance.

“In the meantime, as Andrew has said, we have ensured that there are funds in place for the January transfer window and we are working closely with Brian McDermott regarding his plans. Hopefully, we will all see some of this work come to fruition in the coming days.

So who we get wells, vaz te?
No more excuses please, had enough of them over the last ten years.

If that's right GFH should sign a ground share for Headingley and the training facility at Kirkstall and say that's it to Teak Investments. We are not giving you any more rent. Sell to us at a fair price or let it rot.

Obviously people are trying to sort all this crap out but it seems every time something needs to fruit in order to move on theres more problems.

They will parade a wounded soldier, give away a few quid in a raffle and we are supposed to forget. Ffs.
