Steffen Freund is the co-commentator for the BBC's coverage of Mainz v Monchengladbach.
He's alright. Lots of appreciation for tackles, unsurprisingly.
No explanation for the chants to the tune of Roll Out The Barrel or why they're coming out to The A-Team theme, though.

The One Season Wonder strikes again....
Yet another hat trick for Harry... <cheers>

Is a return to Spurs any sort of possibility? And even if it is, would it be the right move for either at this stage?

Never going to happen imho.

can see him signing a new contract and then going to city the following season

I'm predicting another 2-3 seasons at Bayern before moving to the MLS.

It's no great secret that he's a big NFL fan and wants to invest in a franchise out there. Becoming one of the biggest names in the MLS will help him make the connections he'll need to make that happen.

Wouldn't surprise me if Beckham approaches him to succeed Messi and then brings various bigwigs around a table to discuss American Hand Egg.

I think we all felt the same way tbh.

The club as a whole totally lost its way after that final, and is still wandering around in search of inspiration and direction.

Honestly think it was before that

The previous season's FA Cup semi loss to Man Utd, where it was obvious that Dembele's powers were rapidly on the wane, felt like the air was already staring to come out of the squad

What "pressure" ??
To remain in the PL top 4 after 2015-16 ??

As for the CL final, both manager and players
did not front up when it mattered most.

If Eriksen wishes to speak on that : have at it.
If not : silence is golden.

It was the pressure of being the nearly men, starting with the Leicester season and culminating three years later with the CL final. It was widely recognised that they were our best squad in decades and there was a sense of "if not now, when?" that grew with each year.

I think Poch's reaction and subsequent interview after Amsterdam were the by-products of that pressure.

And then of course because irony is a dish apparently best served by Daniel Levy, we ended up breaking the trophy drought with a manager and squad who were utter ****e after a year of playing ****e football.

Hardly unique to Levy: Sugar started by inheriting Venables' FA Cup winning squad, ended with George Graham winning the League Cup in one of the worst domestic cup finals I can remember
