In some ways, this particular transfer did more harm than good. Obviously if I could turn back the clock, I'd sign Rafa every single time as he was such an enjoyable player to watch and fit Spurs like a glove. However, that particular last minute coup gave Levy this self-perceived aura that he is some sort of transfer guru who can conjure up deadline day miracles on the cheap. He dined on that specific transfer until appx 4 years ago, when he finally clocked that the best you can do nowadays on deadline day is Sissoko for 3 times his actual worth. Still took a transfer record for Ndombele for the pennies to finally drop though.
