Carroll's cross for Swansea's late winner:

Swansea had 4 ex-Spurs on the pitch after 6 mins at the weekend. Wayne Routledge coming on to join Naughton, Carroll and Sigurdsson. I often forget about him - poor guy's Spurs career wrecked by one injury that allowed the precocious talent of Aaron Lennon to emerge. Still it seems that Routledge has something to offer a Prem team and he does pop up with the occasional goal. As I recall very little was made of this effort - if a "superstar" had got it they'd be going on for months - like that Rooney overhead kick. Personally I think this goal is excellent:

Oh - and there's someone with a Trump avatar in the comments saying "He did the ****** click". How wonderful to live in this world right now.

I've always thought Wayne R had something about him too. He's a strange player he seems to now and again show some real World class touches, bursts of speed for about 6 minutes in a game but the rest of the time I spend thinking, where's that player gone. I always thought he was a better crosser of the ball than Lennon. I know that's not saying much.

We never seem to hear about these sorts of things nowadays (we often don't even hear what the bloody transfer fee is!) but it'd be nice to know if we had sell-on fee agreement for the likes of Carroll. Nice to see him getting a chance to regularly show his quality in the Prem.

Also a nice incentive to Winks. See Carroll? We sold him cos we thought you were a better long-term bet. So there's your target - be better than him!

Lee Barnard! There's a blast from the past. Wow. Remember the days when we were hoping that Lee Barnard might come good? Bit different nowadays.
He was the Kane 'prequel'...... <laugh> - a young striker, proficient goal scorer loaned out to various lower league clubs with the hope that he would come through.
It didn't happen for a variety of reasons and you have to say he was unlucky at WHL: Untimely injuries when he was on the brink of breaking through - he was even one of the lads struck down in Lasagne-gate.
Had a few good years with Soton as I recall :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just in case anyone missed it, that bloke that really struggled to score in a Spurs shirt got one today:

Bad news for Ismael Azzaoui: not only has he missed a chunk of the season with a knee injury, but when asked about the player their new manager Andries Jonker says he has never even heard of him...which not only implies he didn't do his research before taking the job, but given Jonker's previous job was head of Arsenal's academy it doesn't say much about his knowledge of youth players does it?

Jamie O'hara joins 7th tier level Billericay Town.

Where did it all go wrong for him ?
