What a privilege it was though to watch that guy play football. I know haven’t been around as long as others on here so haven’t had the fortune of watching other greats but he’s comfortably one of the top three I’ve seen play for Spurs in my lifetime. Rumours are he’s becoming a taxi driver, heard Maicon’s interested in using his services.
A privilege to have watched Bale, the displays against Inter were some of the finest I've seen in a spurs shirt
I don't think I've ever seen a player able to change a game with a moment of brilliance quite like Bale, and I'd include the likes of Kane, Ginola, VDV and Klinsmann in that statement. Explosive, electric talent.
He certainly fulfilled his potential at international level, enabling Wales to punch well above their weight for a period. Shame he never really managed it in club football due to some injuries and his face strangely not fitting at Real Madrid for long periods. They criminally wasted his talents for too much of his time there.
He had issues at Madrid, but still managed some amazing moments for them. Won three league titles, a Copa del Rey and five Champions Leagues. Scored winners in three cup finals, too.
On his return to us despite Jose Mourinho's distrust of him , he made 34 appearances and scored 16 goals not too shabby
Total quality - a unique, special player in his prime, able to perform at a totally different level to his peers. A true 'out of the seat' act.
Had the best goals per minutes ratio of any player in the league that season too. Said many times that's the one thing I couldn't forgive Jose for. and in hindsight Jose said a lot of hard truths that perhaps fans didn't wanna hear or accept at the time but the Bale treatment was farcical, would've likely saved his job if he played him more.

Bale highlight video from the club: Music definitely not by Portishead. Misses some big moments, for me. Goal in the 3-2 comeback at the filth, for example.
Not that we ever forgot but 6:45 worth of action to remind you of just what a phenomenal player the guy was:
