For anyone that didn't realise, Vertonghen wasn't being subbed off.
Yaremchuk replaced Darwin Nunez or another ex-Spur, Adel Taarabt.
Benfica had asked the Ukrainian to take as much time off as he needed, but he wanted to play.

To be more positive, it's always good to see ex-Spurs making a decent career in the game.

Obvious examples are Gomes, the Hull boys, but lesser known names are Jonnie Jackson, David Button, Mark Yeats, Charlie Lee etc, plus guys like Chris Hughton and Justin Edinburgh having reasonable success as managers.
