Ex Smokers

I got into running when I was about 27 and still smoking. I got pretty fit despite chuffing away on 20 cigs a day. I can still run at a decent pace but I'd be way off if I was still smoking. I like being able to get through a workout without wheezing!

But I do miss smoking.

How can you miss smoking?

Never smoked cigs...hate the smell....went straight to weed....love the smell

I top my spliff up with a sprinkle of baccy to help the burn...but i cant smoke a cig or a roll up...eugh.

Did you get any side effects from quitting?

I know a guy who quit for 10 years and had all sorts of ailments. Went to see a doctor in Asia somewhere and doc said to him "did you used to smoke?" He them told him to.smoke the odd one a day. He swears his ailments got better.

Started smoking when I was about 12, am 34 now so been smoking 22 years.
Quit about 6 weeks ago and been using vape ever since.
First couple of weeks were horrific.
Fatigue big time, IBS, falling asleep at my desk at work, headaches, was ****e.
Lasted about 10 days but then it slowly started to get better and I am fine now.

What people do not realise is that even if you use a vape or a patch or some other nicotine replacement, that will handle the nicotine addiction, but you are addicted to the various other chemicals in cigarettes, like Saltpeter, Formaldehyde, Carbon Monoxide and all other kinds of ****e.
You just have to ride it out I am afraid :(

This thread makes me want a ***.

I've smoked just over 10 years and in process of trying to cut down at the moment.

Started by not smoking at work but start a run of nights tonight so gonna be a struggle.
