I smoked from the age of around 14 and quit cold turkey about 6/7 years ago. Had the occasional cigar/cigarette but not gone back to it.

Here's the thing though, although I hate the smell of cigs on clothes and don't want to go back, I have to say I have had a **** time of it since I quit. Aches, pains, fatigue, IBS etc etc

Any other ex smokers had similar?

I gave up for about 5 years but have slid back into it lately and I hate myself for it.

Meh

Did you get any side effects from quitting?

I know a guy who quit for 10 years and had all sorts of ailments. Went to see a doctor in Asia somewhere and doc said to him "did you used to smoke?" He them told him to.smoke the odd one a day. He swears his ailments got better.

Apart from putting on 2 stone no lol

I lost it again btw

Yeah I put on weight too and then some more as I just felt fatigued all the time
I went on a health kick after giving them up,and then putting on the weight. Got myself sorted out and then got a whiff that tempted me one night on holiday.

Like you I smoked from very early teens until I quit 14 yrs ago.
I have aches and pains but that's cos I am an old git (50).
Found I was healthier after quitiing tbh...less colds, sore throats etc.
Hope you get to the bottom of your ailments.

Gave up when Mrs Stan was pregnant with the first. Really struggled to begin with as I loved smoking. Took years to get out of the habit of a cheeky smoke when pissed. Completely over it now. I'll probably go back to it if I live long enough for the kids to move out but I suppose I will have to give up again if they have kids.

Gave it up 15 years ago or so. Hardest thing I've ever done after many, many years of smoking. No real side effects - well, only good ones.

Never regretted it for one minute. I don't even think about it anymore. In fact it just ****ing irritates me, makes my eyes water, makes me cough and sneeze, etc.

I found it much easier to gain weight after stopping, but in general I feel better for it. I'm not one of these ex-smokers who bangs on about smokers though, folk can do wtf they want as far as I'm concerned.

As an ex-smoker I like being in the company of smokers. Sometimes I like to give them a hug <hug>

I gave up about 5 years ago, and just vape now. I do have the occasional bit of tobacco but I can easily just go back on the vape.

I don't plan to quit vaping either.

Not bothered about other people smoking, although my 15 year old lad coming back stinking grates on me a bit.

I use a Joytech Cuboid with a Smok RDA tank running on 65 watts - ****s like smoking a bong.
