What's the betting that the new man will have a brief to develop the academy players and bring them on into the first team. It would be good to have a man that had a bit more success in the cups too.
Maybe Ron and his huge reputation as a player made it hard for the board to get across their philosophy.

I think thats the crux of the problem. Her Dad rescued the club and I love him for that. She has kept his legacy for sentimental reasons (who can forget the photos of him at the JPT final), but ultimately, pure conjecture here, she see's it as a business (i don't blame her for that) we are still punching above our weight in terms of where we finish, but financially we are still also rans. As long as we can keep building season by season thats fine but we will get it wrong with the wrong manager or players. Also, I'm not sure our conveyor belt of promising academy players is looking too bright.

can't believe its only just over two weeks since our best Premiership season (no i haven't forgotten 82)

1. We'll always be also Rans against City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, financially.

2. 85 or 84 :)

Has anyone who knows what they're talking about actually confirmed that Koeman is off to Everton? Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't seem to find any direct quotes or reliable sources, only speculation.

The Mirror reporter who's close to Kenwright and reported on when Martinez was getting sacked is writing the Mirror's back page story on this.

Dutch journalists adamant, as are the Everton ITKs.

Only thing that keeps me a bit hopeful is that 95% of the journo's seem to be surprised/confused by this news. If he does sign an extension clearly this has been an attempt to put pressure on our board, otherwise I can't see why nothing would have been put out/leaked to calm people down.

Tobe, Ler & One.

Cheers.

It's not Ronald leaving that concerns me. As good a job as he's done here, I'm sure we can find someone else at least on his level, especially given our standing as a club right now. However, it troubles me that he would even want to leave. I know Everton are offering obscene money, but he's always been adamant that he would at least see out his contract. I'm sure there's more to it than the money, and that's worrying.

yes maybe those clubs, and i wasn't referring to them, , but why Everton and Spurs or West Ham, their grounds aren't much bigger although the governing bodies seemed to have helped Spurs an 'ammers out on that point

2. I thought we finished 2nd in 82, if 85 or 84 you are just splitting hairs and you know what i meant
