3 days old and a bollocks piece. He asked to be released from his contract but his request was refused and anyone wanting to take him will have to pay his release clause now. His desire to leave still remains.

Someone (from Everton) professing to know the ins and outs of utilising the press does not get the Saints side coming out as "we tried but its all his fault". Funny that. Saints have used the press very well for a while and anyone rubbing them up the wrong way has been made to look like the baddie.
I would say no to Eddie Howe as I think we can do a lot better, but if it came to fruition then would back him.
My fear with Eddie Howe would be, is he enough of a 'name' to keep the likes of Mané etc from becoming unsettled. Even your Clasie types who have an attachment to Ron.

Howe is a great young manager but he is very much suited to bournemouth, I would like him to have another season there in the prem just to see if he is as good as we all think he is. It would be a massive gamble for Saints to go for him and i don't see him being able to attract/keep players that we will need for europe and to maintain a top 6 challenge.
Have said for a while that I both think and hope our next manager after Ron will be Howe. I did hope it wouldn't be quite this soon but I still think he is a great fit. He is young, talented and ambitious which will be perfect for buying into a long term vision. Makes perfect sense for him also. We are a bigger AND BETTER club, he won't have to move his family and we will surely match his ambition.
